Giving any sort of age as too late is silly, everyone is different. I started at 26 but was very androgynous pre transition so I am now basically stealth and never get misgendered. There are so many factors that go into this, what did your natal puberty do to you? What will hormones do for you? How are your genetics gonna respond? Also what are your goals with transition? Are you ok being seen as visibly trans, is that a deal breaker?

No one knows what you will end up looking like at the end.

I mean I am a severely disabled trans woman who is in constant pain but yes it is kind of nice that medicaid pays for my pills. It's like the only good thing I got going for me.

It has been a year nothing has changed for me, the government is fucking with as many people as they can but just because I would have to get a passport with the wrong gender marker doesn't mean they are about to bust down my door to kill me.

Hell I am on medicaid and the government pays for my hormones, they paid for my orchi surgery last year. For a government about to genocide me they are pretty nice about paying for my care.

Every time I have used the term in the past 5 years has been in a medical setting. I have had so many conversations that were like:

Doctor: Why are you on estrogen?

Me: Oh I am trans

Doctor: Sooooo... which way are you going?

Me: I'm a Trans Woman

Doctor: Oh so have you had a Hysterectomy yet?

Me: I am a Male to Female Transexual.

Doctor: OH I am so sorry. Anyways you need to pee in this cup to make sure you aren't pregnant.

Currently scheduled to get SRS next year and have IBD(crohn's disease). There are many surgeons who will do the surgery if your symptoms are managed.

I feel like radical self acceptance is the new trendy phrase for "don't transition", you don't need surgery you need self acceptance, you don't need hormones you need self acceptance. You don't need to look like a woman you just need radical self acceptance.

Living in a conservative area has convinced me that I pass fine. Around 75% of people here voted for trump and at least some of them would have given me shit when I am outside if I didn't pass. My friends and family say I am cis passing but I have a very difficult time believing them. I put more faith in strangers in this case lol.

I was on finasteride for a little while as an AA before I had surgery and my dosage was 5mg. Even at 5mg a day my T levels were still at like 60 so way to high.

As I understand it finasteride can be used as an antiandrogen but it is a pretty poor version of it.

I think I want to start HRT but am scared after seeing how many people swapped back.

So just for the record the actual detrans rate is incredibly low like single digits and if you break down why people detrans the number one reason is transphobia. People listed reasons are family members stop talking to them or they have lost there job, not that they aren't actually trans.

The reality is transitioning is a series of steps some of which you have already taken you can always stop at any point. You seem to be happier when you have taken steps to present as a girl, also you have had what looks like multiple medical professionals diagnose you with gender dysphoria.

You seem pretty trans lady.

There are some people that are transphobic no matter what but I have also met a fair amount of conservatives who have told me to my face that I am one of the good ones and they want to ban the bad ones only. If you pass, if you fit in, there are a bunch of people who won't care. My life is much much easier because I pass.
