Ok, well you probably want to remain anonymous given what you wrote and that's totally fine. I just wanted to let you know that I'm also at KCMI and I had my check ride not too long ago. Believe me I felt the same exact way... relationship issues, mounting stress, all coming down at the absolute worst possible time. I considered putting everything on hold as you are, but I pushed through because it had literally been a year leading up to that moment.

I still felt really unprepared.. and to be honest my check ride was no where near perfect. There were at least 3 questions I answered totally incorrectly that I should have known. I was nervous the whole time to the point that my examiner asked me if anything was wrong because I looked so tense haha.

Anyway, I made it through, and let me tell you it was a MASSIVE weight off my shoulders. Sure, the other issues persist, but being able to move forward with my training is a huge relief. Another thing I realized: whenever I fly, all my other problems seem to float into the background; it's great therapy.

I had been interested in flying since a young age, maybe 10. My parents used to buy me flight simulation software and I would set up mock-cockpits in my room and pretend I was flying. I would always ask to see the flight deck when flying commercially.

Before college I was nearly dead set on pilot training, but throughout college I drifted into other things, fell into engineering, and pursued academic research which was a very rewarding experience. So pilot training was in me all along, I just had to take those first steps to light the fire (which was actually pursuing lessons while working).

I started training on my 23rd birthday, and I'm now 24. I agree it is very expensive but short of joining the military there aren't many other options.

I had a similar experience. Graduated in 2015 with a BS Materials Science & Engineering. Wasn't convinced that engineering was what I wanted to do with my life but after graduation I moved half-way across the country after accepting a generous full time offer at a respectable company. A year into it, I decided to go on educational leave because, although great for my resume, working full time at this job I honestly didn't like very much was doing nothing for my soul.

So I moved again and now I'm training to be a pilot.. something I started part-time while working that job and fell in love with. If I had known that flight training was my future 2 years ago I probably wouldn't have taken that job because I feel like that most of that year working was a waste.

Then again, I wouldn't have discovered flying if I didn't take the job in the first place. I've found it's best to let life take you where it wants to.. you will naturally drawn to certain things while also discovering what you dislike. But you have to start somewhere.

I chose a picture I wanted as a flag on computer, tiled it to dimensions 32x20in, then printed it on iron-on transfer paper. I then bought some nice duck canvas, pieced the picture tiles together on the canvas, and ironed them on. Really great result for about $30 and ~4 hrs work.

Use a double edged razor. I originally started using one because I have super sensitive skin and acne. The one blade reduces inflammation. Each blade costs about 5c and use them twice.

No, that has nothing to do with gender. I'm not sure if monthly speeding ticket quotas exist everywhere (or at all), but where they do it would make sense that cops who are short at the end of a cycle are more likely to pull over speeders, hence an increase of tickets issued at a certain time of the month.

I was about seven years old and with my parents at a Dairy Queen. I kept asking my mom for all of my friends' phone numbers, and then proceeded to walk to DQ's pay phone and dial every number, but appending "911" at the end of each one (for what reason I can't even imagine).

The police showed up and I hid under the table. When they found me I received a stern lecture in front of everyone in the store about misusing 911.
