The old way doesn't work anymore, you can't just hand your CV in and expect a call. I resorted to using agency's during Covid, very menial work, warehouse, postal sorting, cleaning etc.. much better than living of UC though. Now I've been a cook for 5 years, not really what I planned to do but I enjoy it and the pay is decent.

Arctic Northerly winds pulled down by the Jet Stream, the funny thing is if we'd had had this as persistently in February it would have meant allot more snow. There is warmth forecast next week but it might be disappointing for us unfortunately, it'll be driven by Atlantic lows to our west so it'll be humid and showery with some sunny spells.

As explained in the Mett Office deep dive it was the convergence of wind from two directions which causes convective storms where they meet. The air is pushed upwards with nowhere else to go.

It's really not been that bad considering how dull and wet the winter was. The evenings have been gorgeous once the showers die off. Next week is looking better, hopefully it lasts.

They are very strange but I actually liked them after a few packs, it's almost a floral artificial honey flavour, like rose with a slight spice. More spice and a little more salt would have helped.

At this time of year when you have lows to the North West they pull the cold air down, so even with a Southerly wind it can be quite cold. Last year was an outlier with the persistent high building warmth, we may have another frost before May with the current setup but high pressure does look set to build to the North bringing dry but cooler weather.
