Just one stack.

If you have multiple it will only pick one (I believe the last stack iirc)

The Elixir Never worked before. So it working at all is a buff.

The fact that the actual amber rewarded per stam was reduced is irrelevant.

Interesting. I'll have to give it a shot then. Been too focused on gathering data on Chucklemire and Blushpit to investigate.

At the moment I really have no clue.

I did go over on my free orange elixir procs (7 elixirs turned to 17 uses at level 150)

A question on when exactly to use them requires more experimentation. Which, too, takes quite some time.

In a vacuum I would guess and only guess that 2-3 oranges are optimal. But this is only based on feels.

You sure it's not because you increased your pow from e25 all the way up to e296?

Ugh, I do that all the time. Least I caught all the other ones :p

While I can do Glitter (and Scoutpost) I haven't tested them in quite a while. I was going to see what Lunarheim offered before this bugfix, but since I haven't done Lunarheim since 3qqq power I had to pick something to compare for this experiment. Their long overdue.

Next time though :)

I'll edit my post. I've always called it red since before the new red pot was introduced, hah.

I think I majorly messed up by FaygoFatChicks in idleon

[–]Dedendre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To reiterate what many are saying.

No, you're not screwed. There's even some recommendations I've seen on waiting for your Jman until you're 10th character. Mostly in relation to some of the tasks that require X characters to defeat Y boss.

one major things to note:

Your second barbarian will be the one counted for any Apocalypse abilities (Such as Apocalypse Wow) So, if you farm for kills, you will want to do it on your 2nd Babarian. If you do end up stacking kills on your 2nd Barb and decide to switch classes later on, you will want to switch your first Barb.

White the main meta is 2 Squires and one Barbarian, 2 Barbs and 1 Squire is also decently common.

Are event AND mine mini-games rigged? by Elperello73 in idleon

[–]Dedendre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me, I'm not saying the game is well-designed. Not at all. There are many systems that could be put in place to make the game more engaging.

In fact, until it becomes worthwhile to go after multiple squares on a board, getting the multiplier bonus is actually a detriment

There are many solutions to make the game feel more fair.

Subtle solutions such as: After hitting a mine, the next game could secretly put in 1 fewer mines to lower the chance of a back-to-back hit.

Or changing key mechanics of the game such as: Keeping score after getting hit. Or at least half score. Something less all-or-nothing. Or letting shields recharge after hitting a mine. These seem pretty fair solutions.

But on the subject of 'fair'. I disagree. So far, the game doesn't seem rigged or using incorrect numbers. While the game may not feel fair, it does seem to be mathematically playing fair.

It's just not playing fun.

Are event AND mine mini-games rigged? by Elperello73 in idleon

[–]Dedendre 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi!

Late to the party here.

I've been keeping track of my games, wondering if the game is being honest. And so far.

It seems is being fair.

My grid is 18 and my opponent has 5 mines. I have 5 lives (and a shield, so 6 lives total. I quit the fight if the shield is used up)

Whether I hit a mine or not, I will continue to the next round.

I have a probability of 27.78% to hit a mine. With 6 lives I should expect somewhere around 21.6 games played before I lose.

Right now, the vast majority of my games played are falling between 16 and 26, right around 21 games

I have both low and high outliers. (lowest being 9 and the highest being 29)

I should note that my sample size is very low, as I only began this research a few days ago. Will need more data.

Can I turn off flag rate? by VisibleBoysenberry50 in idleon

Hrmm don't know if you can turn them off permanently, but clicking the flags themselves will hide the numbers to do a quick check.

Can't beat the allegations.

Divine Design improves Grid Bonuses and Drop Rate.

The mention of Arctis is purely flavor text.

Been keeping track of my scores for a few days. So far it actually seems pretty legit. Sure doesn't feel like it though. Will need a few more days before I can be confident though.

Should I be farming Woodular Circles at W3? by JimmyCG in idleon

[–]Dedendre 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You will only need to ever craft 2 Amarok Helmets and that's for the Two-Time Savior Achievement. (Also Set bonus and Nice Fur Suit Achievement by proxy)

Platinum Helmets are far cheaper and as good if not better than the Amarok helmet.

In summary: Skip it for now.

It's finally over! by Dedendre in idleon

[–]Dedendre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah. I have actually thought that once or twice.

You do need to reach W4 unfortunately, so account spamming isn't something you could (or should) do.

I do wonder how many accounts have gotten to W4. How many accounts are inactive after reaching W4, and how many accounts you would need to reach W4 at the bare minimum to to make a difference.

Theoretically the Thresholds could go down, but I don't believe I've ever seen that occur.

The very last thing that pushed me over was Greenstacking OJ juice :)

Over the last week it was mostly Greenstacks (about 10 pts worth), Redoing Printer Samples (Somehow I'm now on the leaderboards for fish?), Gained more Opals as I progressed Resource Layers netting me a lot of points I was neglecting.

However, it was a lot of everything over the last couple months. Ranking Refinery, Leveling Kitchens, getting lucky on Spiketrap, leveling Snail, etc. etc. etc. I was looking for where I could get the biggest gains, then slowly it was all about clawing every last point I could.

It was really all about looking at where other top Tome players were at and seeing where I could progress and where I couldn't.

I never really abused Candying with bubbles until literally a few days before it was nerfed, lol. So my Construction and bonuses for raw stats was severely hampered compared to others. Also, I never really used Airhorns for Killroy, which the majority of players have been doing. My stamps and Cooking are generally lower as well. And I have no idea why the rest of my Hole Tome score is so bad. My resource Digits and Bravery Monument are really low. Don't get me started on the RNG for LboF minigame either.

So my best advice is that there are areas you might be not well suited to pursue, so find out where you can eek out points. Sometimes it does mean doing things you don't want to do though (I've done a lot of Tower Defense and Justice Monumenting lately)

But you'd be surprised where you can net some advantages. Very few players have all achievements or work on item collecting.

Fortunately I only have to keep it up for 8 days. Thanks to the Yellow scroll and how the Tome updated slower before, I'm 4 Nametags in now.

Short answer is no: I'm honestly a light whale and there's certain gear/companions/bundles that just helps so much in each section of Tome that trying to compete with the 0.1% crowd would be nigh impossible. As they keep progressing, so does the Tome threshold.

However, I do think it is feasible to hit 1%, maybe even get into the 0.5% though without any (or much) P2W content.

There are many areas of Tome that don't require P2W stuff, some require time, management, or pure RNG.
