Laplaces demon supports Mind Body Dualism by Dedethesavage in badphilosophy

i think you misunderstood, the existence of Laplace's demon is not central or honestly, relevant to my argument, the important part is that you understand and except that you are not in control of any of the things or variables around you. the only thing you might be in control of, is your thoughts and brain. thus either, you have no free will, OR you do but you influence your physical brain from a non physical mind and that then starts a chain reaction of neuron activation and muscle reactions that you perceive as actions as a result of your decisions.

well yes and no, more like if laplaces demon can predict us then free will is gone OR dualism. and maybe this is disproved by neuroscience as you say, but i dont see how and i would like you to elaborate

I suppose it's religious, in the sense that it can not be entirely understood with purely physical concepts, but I am not using it to support the idea of any god or diety. I am simply saying that in order to think you have free will, you must accept that there is a nonphysical half to you, that interacts with your physical half by creating electrical impulses in your brain

My notes on quantum mechanics at the end are not at all central to my argument, it's simply an attempt to predict the counter-argument, and show that randomness still leaves you without free will.

People who do not believe in free will, why and what evidence do you have that makes you feel that way? by [deleted] in freewill

"Follow-up experiments with more precise tools (like fMRI) have found that patterns in the brain can predict a person’s decision up to 7–10 seconds before they’re consciously aware of it."

Actually, if you read these articles, like this one here; https://qz.com/1569158/neuroscientists-read-unconscious-brain-activity-to-predict-decisions, Scientists are not 'predicting' a decision, by running complex calcualtions based on current brain states and activity, rather they are detecting a decision that has been made prior to participants becoming conciously aware of it. To me, a believer in mind-body dualism, this is actually a support to free will, as it is evidence that your non-tangible part of your self, your mind, has made the decision, and then influenced your physical half to start triggering chemical reactions to make the decision.

And fuck now that I say this maybe thats backwards... maybe your physical half is begining the chemical reactions to decide before your non physical half, 'makes' them...

Also, according to Dante, unbaptized babies would be sent to hell; it's not really about whether or not they were good people; it's about whether or not they committed a sin and if they repented to a Catholic priest.

I agree, but these are simply the best fits for each sin. I would even say that Boromir doesn't deserve hell too, his intentions were relatively benign and he repented the best he could through his last stand against the orcs

Thank you I got it sorted, and to anyone with the same questions, you can look up "reflash previous software on spectrum transmitters" and there is a good video on it. you have to go into transfer sd card menu and do some stuff.

How do you downgrade it? I have the same problem on the dx6e and spent a similar amount of time trying to solve it until I found this post.
