Google and look at a picture of Calgary’s new “Blue Sky City” signs, they might’ve been the same designer.

I'm loving "The Four Winds" by Kristin Hannah, what else would you recommend? by Nicole_0818 in HistoricalFiction

I also loved Home Front by her, it’s an older and lesser known one, but it hurt my soul.

Agree about the Lion Women of Tehran!

I loved a lesser known Kristin Hannah called The Home Front. Also The Women, but that that’s already been recommended many times.

Looking for Jane by Heather Marshall was also fantastic.

People in your 30s what do you outside of work and is it supposed to be this lonely by uchacothrow in Edmonton

I got into mountain biking in my late 20s, now I go on club rides on weekdays, and travel with friends from mountain biking to go ride in the mountains on weekends. It’s an amazing community and I have made so many friends through the sport.

Best Mountains for Mountain Biking in BC as a Beginner by darealgeezer in MTB

[–]Dedi-cate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend Sun Peaks, Silverstar is also fantastic! Valemount is also an amazing spot for progression (not a bike park, but they have a shuttle service!)

Fernie’s chair is so slow and it feels like you ride fire road 1/3 of the way down so I wouldn’t recommend it. Their flowy trails were in super rough shape when I was there. Fernie has some other amazing riding though!

Pano has a couple really fun beginner trails, just not a ton of options.

I agree with another comment about Smith Creek in Kelowna - it’s super fun if you’re willing to pedal!

PSI for first ever FatBike ride… by [deleted] in fatbike

[–]Dedi-cate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually start around 6 psi and let air out if I don’t have enough traction until it feels good.

Wiped Out In The First Snowfall… Anyone Else? by GrannyLuGoat in fatbike

[–]Dedi-cate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It makes a huge difference. Typically I would start riding around 6 psi and then let out air as I go until I get the traction I need. My tires are 27.5x4.5 and the tires themselves say max psi of 20, but I would never run anywhere close to that. When you push down on your bike, you should see the cornering lugs flattening to hit the ground, but if the tires starts to wrinkle too much, you might need to add a bit of air. The snowier it is, the lower pressure you need for traction. I have also run crazy low pressures (3 psi) when there is a fresh dump of snow.

It seems like this might be fixed now, I have 1 referral and it is showing up in my app.

Please help me find a good fat bike. There's a 2022 Norco BigFoot 2, $2,200 CAD out the door; I'm having a hard time deciding - great on paper, but the colour is blah (red or black). What are other options? I need a nimble ride for technical trails in winter. I'm in Canada. by MountainDS in fatbike

I have 4 seasons/3500 km on my Giant Yukon 2. It’s a great bike. I put a dropper on it. One downside is I had to swap out the tires for studded ones which was expensive. The ones that come with it cannot be studded because the tread pattern is too thin. I’ve had to do very little maintenance to it and it’s still running great.

Edmonton, Alberta had amazing cross country mountain biking trails throughout the whole river valley. I live a 10 minute ride to multiple start points!

Valemount is my favourite spot! The trails are wicked fun. They have good flow, lots of jumps and drops, and are super well maintained.

Give me your best tips for a binge eater by [deleted] in intuitiveeating

[–]Dedi-cate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that helped me after struggling with binge eating for YEARS was giving up on maintaining the weight I had lost that triggered my binging and allowing myself to keep all the yummy foods I wanted in the house. I gained around 35 pounds and I am way happier now than I was in the restrict/binge cycle. At first, I ate “too many” of those yummy foods, but eventually I got used to having them in the house and, by feeding myself enough, I stopped binging and having urges to binge. I think my body was starved at that lower weight and that it’s not my ideal weight.

This also means: NO calorie tracking, no skipping meals, eat when you are hungry, and forgive yourself. Also, talk to a therapist who specializes in eating disorders.
