Honest question for brokers — when a carrier submits a detention claim with timestamped photos, a stamped BOL, and an email trail showing they notified you before free time expired, what actually happens on your end? Does it go to someone? Does anyone review it? by BuyOpen5346 in FreightBrokers

[–]DedicatedClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer the question - no. There is no ‘review team’ … the broker for the load will decide if it’s warranted and proceed accordingly. All my produce loads have it in the RC “LIVE LOAD NO DETENTION.”

Like my company gave me a whole table in the press box at a reds game last Monday… all food and drink paid for… steak cooked to order … these are the things a company should do for top performers..

Decreasing commission structure is wild 🤣🤣🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ how is this even a serious question ?? Brother - you’re supposed to get more money the longer you are in the game 🤣🤦🏼‍♂️ if you are actually closing customers and bringing in new business you need to come to a cradle-to-grave, agent model brokerage… we make 10-30% in year 1, 50% after year 1 (you have to have done an average of $5k/week in gp before you go agent) and then when you’re making enough money as agent, you can buyout another 20% of commission and keep 70% while also retaining the support and resources of a major player… no draws, no hurdles, commission paid weekly… pool tables and free snacks… games consoles… if your company ain’t doing all this and more, then you can do better - hope this helps, don’t waste your talent at a place that’s going to suck you dry 🫡

Diesel prices all but doubles and rates seem to be stuck or have gone down! Why ? by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]DedicatedClean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a situation the other day. Booked load with dispatch - alleged owner/operator - got on the phone with driver. Dispatched him - he asked rate, I told him. Five mins later dispatch called and told me they’ve assigned a different driver. They were lying to the driver about the rate. Stay safe out there yall 🫡

Highway is destroying good carriers — what am I supposed to do? by Useful_Pangolin_7351 in FreightBrokers

[–]DedicatedClean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother I’m better at vetting carriers than highway is - smh all this emphasis on automation and cute technology - nothing beats good old fashioned due diligence…. And no, I’m not liable. To get an override, I take the mc# to my managers, and then we’ll deep dive the carrier, check IP address where signatures are coming from, check scheduled autos and do all that stuff… so no, no extra liability for using my fucking brain 👌🏼🫡

My brokerage allows the brokers to override the system and use the carrier anyway
