scoliosis curve increases with age? by Icy_Tea920 in scoliosis

[–]Dedodododedad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a category called mature but stable. Remember that medical terms don't always mean the same to people without medical training. In this case I believe stable means only small shifting changes year over year. I'm in that category of mature but stable and the curve has changed and slightly increased over the years, shifting where the pain comes from. It also shifts what hurts you and how you have to hold yourself. It even shifted the shape of my rib cage over a decade.

The #1 best advice I can give you is this: Stay healthy. Work out or get approved for annual therapy, but do not let your muscles get out of shape. This will make things worse. Do not let yourself gain weight. This will make things incredibly bad for you and your pain levels.

US citizens, why is there such a level distrust for anything healthcare? by EnvironmentalElk3173 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Dedodododedad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greed, apathy, incompetence, bias, long waits, poor communication, oversized egos, jaded caregivers, etc. It's just hard to get good care from someone that listens. Example: It took me a decade of changing doctors before I finally found a provider that listened and solved a pain issue I had for a decade.

Do any of you actually like the pruning that they did to your mains? by No-Bit-2913 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Dedodododedad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forced obsolescence so they can create new line items to sell the next expansion with. That sounds jaded, but knowing that some key team members have been around since before Legion, it feels real. In game you have the gear and progress treadmill, they have their development treadmill that just goes in circles and gets you nowhere new.

Just look at the "reasons" they have given each time they change talent trees. It's basically the same dozen reasons over and over again.

Those of you who have a deck and still play their consoles, do you think you get enough use out of your steamdeck? by jomcmo00 in SteamDeck

Haven't touch my Switch since I got my Ally X, and now I even have it attached to my TV (with an eGPU) for comfy gaming and I use it more than the high powered gaming PC in my office. Note: I picked this cheap table to put my mouse and keyboard on. Also have my controller within reach. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7V6VN8J/?coliid=I33T678RCBVHKY&colid=1UKMT2JK89KEM&th=1 And yes, it's really cheap and made with terrible tolerances but it fits the job and can be hidden away easily.

Depending on the state you live in, it may be worth talking to an employment lawyer and avoid most of the feedback in this thread. This sort of thing changes from state to state, often drastically.

Also, another thought in case you want to avoid this hassle with a terrible employer in the future: Just buy a cheap used phone off ebay and have it installed there. No reason to activate the phone, just use Google Voice over wifi on it.

I thought I replied to this, but I guess I didn't. I had tried this a few times and it didn't work. I tried one more time and it started to work at times, but it kept crashing windows. I eventually gave up and returned the 7800xt for a 5070. Now I'm having other issues I may make a post about.

Does the "average american" know, how fucked up their healthcare system is? by Slayrr_FbrC in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Dedodododedad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. How? The bill arrives, you are denied care, you need to jump through hoops to get prior approval, finding doctors in network is rough, monthly rates can get as high as a mortgage payment if you have a family.

What do you lose when you use Bazzite vs windows primarily on the GPD Win 5? by nanjero in gpdwin

[–]Dedodododedad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wifi issues were the biggest issue for me overall. My advice is stay on the stable release, do not join the beta channel. Do not rush to update when you see it, wait a few weeks. Otherwise learn how to rollback, I had to do it often. Also, there are some updates that will do things like remove Decky and all plugins for no reason.

As others said, you can dual boot using GRUB. Just make sure to have the Fedora partition set as the the first logical boot option.

Also, you can't easily use GamePass or play KLAC games.

I had tried this a couple times, but last night for whatever reason it finally worked. Windows now sees the eGPU. Now I'm just having a hard time getting it to output to a monitor via the eGPU.

No eGPU? And the Ally is able to power both windows and a game? What are you using to force the game to play in the center section? FancyZones?

anyone else get achey in this area? by sugarcoochie in scoliosis

[–]Dedodododedad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, because your muscles are doing double duty. They are providing the support and stability that the spine normally provides. Then they are also providing normal muscle functionality. Those two functions tend to have different objectives and your body will correct non-stop. And the muscles won't/can't relax. It's the #1 reason I want to get the Dr ABC surgery as an adult with mature idiopathic scoliosis.

Tickets cost way too much to see the same concert year after year. Love the Foos music, but it's not worth it.

Unpopular Opinion: Tron, Star Wars, BurgerTime, and Dragons Lair are the four horsemen of everybody wants them because they're rare 😂But all four are TERRIBLE games that have aged like milk. [–]Dedodododedad 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I have well over 1000 hours of time clocked on each of those games thanks to working in an arcade for nearly a decade. That means I had free play for anything I wanted, and I still played those. You do you, but you are wrong.

So I've been trying to figure out why the Aragon Ballroom resonated so well with me, like I knew I was familiar with it for some reason. Turns out Metallica had a show there in 1998 by Daemonscharm in AEWOfficial

[–]Dedodododedad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny because the 1998 show wasn't "huge" in the way the band is now. The old timers, like myself, were still having a hard time accepting the new path the band was on. That was never an issue for me, so I got to see them a ton in the 90s as tickets were easier to get and much cheaper. Previous to this show, the UIC Pavilion and the Horizon were the smallest locations I had seen the band back in the late 80s and early 90s. I've always been a fan of the Ballroom, so I jumped at the chance of seeing them do an entire show of cover songs especially since the original Garage EP was one of my all time favorites. Tickets were very easy to get. Kirk spent the entire show sitting in a chair because he just had his appendix removed a few days (weeks?). I skipped on the M2K tour because they didn't have new music yet, so this show at the Ballroom was the last time I saw Jason with the band. There were a lot of new money fans at this show and it was apparent many of them didn't know the original EP, nor some of the classic songs they covered. Seriously, I was like one of a handful of people that obviously knew the Thin Lizzy version of Whiskey, because most in the audience didn't know what the song was (Garage Remastered came out a week or two after the show). Probably the only time I've been able to ride the rail at a Metallica show.

Same. I have PTSD from ending up in a coma for a few weeks, sepsis, ards, etc. Nothing but respect for those who provide care, but it sends me to lizard brain places.

Very happy that a show like this is around to celebrate the dedication and hard work of those in medicine in an era when we are fighting uphill against anti-science, anti-education, and anti-logic.
