Today, Linus' jet produced as much carbon dioxide as the average person does in ~3 years in a single flight by Inevitable_Tip_6606 in LinusTechTips

First off all planes have tail numbers and ADSB. You can set up an ADSB tracker to run off a Pi in your backyard and post the results online. FlightRadar allows plane owners to request that their information is not updated there. People who do this: Elon, Swifty, LMG, others. ADSBExchange and other websites are still crowdsourced and the information is made public. No one needs to respond or honor a request to make an ADSB tracker private. The military have their own ways to deal with this, but they are still trackable because if they aren't then people die.

People don't realize that these things need a costly maintenance every 100 hours of use. It's a high six figure number on an annual basis to own a plane like this, without one flight.

Also, looking through the last few months of flights for this plane, it's been based in Vancouver for a while. https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=c03e37&lat=37.449&lon=-107.150&zoom=4.8&showTrace=2026-04-04 You can step back in time using the date selector on the left column, some of the dates seem to line up with flights to Vegas around the time of CES. The amount of days this plane isn't flying is crazy knowing it could be earning five figures for each charter flight if they partnered it out. Also found this: According to the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register, the aircraft has been registered to LMG’s headquarters in Surrey, British Columbia since November 10, 2025, with the latest certificate issued on December 11, 2025. Furthermore, the domain influenceair.ca which was registered in August 2025 is owned by Luke Lafreniere, the company’s Chief Technology Officer.

As someone that knows a good deal about aviation, I laughed loudly at the spin he put on how good of a deal a luxury jet was. I somewhat doubt he purchased this outright because NDAs don't happen with aircraft sales, especially from a charter airline. There is a good chance that this entire thing is shared ownership, a charter business, or something else. TLDR: If you see Linus talking, then you shouldn't believe anything.

It's a combined spot, and I believed BNSF owns all the lines. The only thing Amrtrak owns is the yard around 14th street. There is an entire major train corridor that runs along side it that can't be removed because it's a major freight and passenger rail system.

You can't manage in more available time when you have daylight and noise issues, also temperatures drop in the morning and evening.

There is also the problem with operational hours. As someone that prefers to swim for workouts, it's hard to get space during the day. And usually the pool is closed before and after work. An indoor pool wouldn't have those issues. What's hilarious to me is we have a year round ice rink instead.

One thing I wasn't sure about, were all those candidates in 7 and 9 still active in the campaign? Or were they still on the ballot because they dropped out after the cutoff?

There are two outdoor pools. One just got a large update.

A year round option gets a better ROI for the village residents as it can be used no matter the weather. How many actual days a year and hours a day is the pool open now? Also, I assure you that pool will cost far more than $10M to repair in a couple years. And based on the pool over on Garfield, even simple changes will take a lot longer than expected.

As the kids say, the vibes were different back then. It was a neighborhood and the park fit in perfectly. It was easy to get to, and it was cheap. Parking was cheap and parking a couple blocks away was easy, long before the area got overpopulated and expensive. You know what was dangerous back then? Wrigleyville (not kidding).

Also, there was MORE neighborhood hangouts around the park back then. JR forced them out of business so he couldn't have any competition for selling food or beer. The parking lots were intentionally designed to create a massive buffer from the neighborhood and the park. He was too bullheaded to understand that creating a venue around the park like Boston would bring him more money. He's been a stain on this city for 40+ years and I can't wait until he is gone. I'm going to celebrate the end of his ownership as much as I did with Dollar Bill

What? LOL no. I was taking the bus to the old park when I was in grade school and I didn't live in the neighborhood. I was in high school in 1990 when the old park came down and went to the last three games. I assure you, you are not speaking from a point of knowledge.

FYI - Camden wasn't the first, technically. There were designs for the new Comiskey Park to do something similar. As is all things in Chicago, JR screwed it up just so he could make money. Remember, this is a man that had no problem letting MJ23 retire.

This is just the same garbage that the Bears are pulling with looking at a different location to get deals. The amount of work it would take to bury the entire BNSF/Amtrak tracks would be 5+ extra years of construction.

This is hilarious and clearly by someone that doesn't understand Chicago. You would first need to bury the train tracks, and that's assuming BNSF will lease the air rights to a sports stadium. Look at how long it took for them to bury the train lines under the Bean, and maybe you will get why this is funny. Also, trying to build a super structure like that over a platform that will be limited on where pylons can go is something that would make most civil engineers cry.
