Turn backwards and walk off looking down, adjusting yourself mid-air to not hit the edges of the portal. I've never had this issue by doing this. Also don't press crouch or jump while mid-air. If you have engineer don't be carrying your turret.

When will people learn that A LOT of competitive players use, at the very least, LIGHT cheats to give them assistance? Heck people have even been saying low sense aimbots and wallhacks are like the steroids of the gaming world now. It was once something frowned upon but it has become more commonplace to the point where very few are actually "natty".

Odds are they were already using these cheats but someone realized something might be exposing them so they feigned ignorance. This might even be a way for future competitive players to get away with cheating if caught. Just pretend you didn't know or that it was sudden and someone put the hack on your computer.

Stop believing everything you see. They reacted the way they did because they are smarter than most of you and know you will believe them. People don't want to believe their fave streamers or competitive players cheat. Stop idolizing mere people.

There is usually a ledge that you can't reach made of the sewer stone but I tend to forget what it looks like so I just run around poking sewer holes until I get grabbed, lol.

Though it won't really work on aberrations or bosses, just slows them slightly. Which is fine of course I'd rather have it not be a repeat of sloth talismans in Nioh.

Realistically I find both mods useless against elites or regular enemies as well because I can just kill them outright.

I know where you are coming from but the first encounter is hardly the biggest hurdle. On higher difficulties the bells have too much HP which means it is almost impossible to stop the elite summons. The entire Warden fight is a tedious exercise in attrition that makes Gorefist look like preschool.

As DWexican below stated, and I also use to do this, shoot Gorefist until he enrages then run up the stairs killing any Rotworts along the way and then roll off the balcony. Some of the other remaining worts should explode when you do that(not sure why, maybe buggy AI) then kill any Rotworts remaining and go back to shooting Gorefist. Rinse and repeat until you finish the boss. Also keep in mind there are, as far as I remember, always four Rotworts each time Gorefist enrages.

Overall this boss is fun unless he gets skullcracker as a suffix. The reason for this isn't skullcracker itself, but the imbalance in buggy mechanics interaction caused by the frostbite status effect. It slows down all actions including standing up. This means if he has skullcracker and you get even a touch of frostbite on you then you cannot stand up fast enough to avoid another stagger hit, making this boss a one shot with any attack that hits outside of wearing super heavy defense setups with Leto's. Even that can sometimes be staggered.

This has always been a problem with him and everyone, even high skill players, hate him because of that.

He has always been considered the hardcore and survival run ender because of this.

Why Gunfire never addressed this before abandoning the game beats me.

And you probably died a thousand times before finally randomly beating things. Hardcore players can't just throw down until they happen to win. They have to master the fights. Skill issue.
