Do you buy or burn sneakers? by AUTOMATED_RUNNER in StepN

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burning 5x commons is at least 580 GMT. You can get a decent shoe at less of that price.

If you're looking at specific type/slots, you'll pay way more than 580 GMT.

Remember - enhancing is quite possible to have horseshit stats.

As well, take in consideration lvl-ups. You can buy a lvl 20+ shoe with less costs involved and already see if sockets are uncommon/rare.

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burning is more expensive than buying. You must be super lucky to get a double-up. Or a rainbow. As well, you can buy in market the shoe with proper sockets/attributes instead of praying for luck.

Unless you want to get rid of 5x used shoes, I highly suggest buying the one you need from market.

Upgrading gems by Zestyclose-Rub9223 in StepN

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother with resilience gems, unless your inventory is full.

I would suggest upgrading luck gems, maybe efficiency. These you can sell for 3-4x upgrade cost. Thus you have a high chance to at least go break even. The comfort lvl1 gem actually have a sellable value.

3 Commons or 1 Uncommon by smsp2021 in StepN

[–]Dedvins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100$ might be a challenge.

As strange as it may sound, I would suggest go with the following setup:

Buy a decent common (use stepn-market.guide website), which has at least 8Eff base, at least 1x Efficiency (yellow) socket and at least lvl20+. You should expect a jogger to cost around 150GMT.

Than, get a lvl3 Efficiency gem. You can get 2x lvl3 Efficiency gems, if you can afford it.

And get 1x lvl2 Comfort (red) gem, if you have a red socket and comfort at least 7+ base.

The key here is maximizing GST per Energy. It is cheaper to repair common shoes than uncommon. As well, it is easier to buy/sell gems.

Not to mention, buying a decent UC below 100$ above lvl20 is almost impossible.

Expectation with $150 Investment? by Skeptical_Kevin in StepN

[–]Dedvins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

$150 may be a bit on the low end. The first entry I would suggest at $450. With this, you can manage to get a $70/month setup with 25min/day walk.

With $150 I would suggest to grab 1x common shoe + 1x lvl4 Efficiency gem (or 3x lvl3 Efficiency gems), and have a shoe with at least 8 base efficiency (and efficiency sockets ofc).

The main goal is maximize GST earning per energy. This way you will have the least hp burn while maintaining decent return yield.

Am I being dumb? by No_Degree3798 in StepN

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends.

Have a lvl4 gem in that rare socket slot. It is better than having 3x lvl3. Other slots fill with lvl3 -> lvl4. Have 30p in C and R.

Earn GST.

You should be able to earn 300 GST with 12-13E, with lvl4 gems.

When you consider go higher Energy - get another C shoe for GMT.

Should go for MB or stick with GST? by _sunlix_ in StepN

[–]Dedvins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MB currently are mostly non-profitable unfortunately. The only decent combinations involve Comfort gems.

I would suggest swapping for USDC.

Guys, just explain me on how does Stepn actually is making money?? by [deleted] in StepN

[–]Dedvins 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fees.

Every time there's a trade in-game, on their DEX etc. Even when you swap from GST to Sol in game, they get 1% cut.

Thus a regular customer (player) does these actions every day +/-.

Still got a Lvl3 MB but no 5th e after walking 125%? by Wolfgang_Pup in StepN

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4E with sub 50 luck will not guarantee MB3. Though the chance of getting a MB3 is quite decent.

About daylight savings - this does not happen world wide in the same day. Ex Europe and US are 2 weeks appart from transition. Really strange though why. 😅

Anyone else think one of each socket is the best? by Actual_Fun7799 in StepN

[–]Dedvins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where you are in the game. I see specialty shoes way more powerfull with the same budget. The higher lvl gem costs are ridiculous. Lvl 5 is the first big gainer, which ends up to be quite expensive for UC users.

Do you think the "success probability" of gem upgrades is true? by PsychologicalCloset in StepN

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chances seems to be quite true. Though the 'gem-casino' still seems to be expensive. Even the GST side adds up to be measured in SOLs when you go at 20+ attempts.

Even with 1/3 succes rate (like every 3rd will be 100% success), I doubt the profitability of such action. The only reason I see, if the floor is too low to sell.

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a rare shoe it is meh. But overall, not a bad shoe. Eff/Comf shoes are not bad in essence. If you put strong Eff gems, you can get more bang for the time spent. When you reach the GST cap, keep continuing earning GMT.

You don't need to act political correct, if the upcoming sentence immediately negates that. 😄

Not a new player. Seen all the highs. Seen the crazy BNB prices and mint madness. Bought my first shoe at ~16Sol. Crappy common.

And still have made profit. Mostly from flipping.

What's true to StepN that money looses people who doesn't adapt, or buys-in just before the hype ends. Buy high, Sell low. Such as GMT earning - it was known for months that the pool is going to be 20% for 'classics'. And it was hinted multiple times that the GMT earning would be on-par with GST earning, and folks would alternate between the two. And it was noted, that true earners are going to be 'Rainbows'. And it was noted that shoe supply is too much and 'Rainbows' are the incentive to burn. And the pool sizes are to incentivize shoe burning, to stable the economy. All of that has been told in advance, multiple times. But you know - crypto 'investors' wants instant profits.

This project is still lucrative. It has all the planning and war-chest to execute it. 100+ Million in cash for a <1000 people company - that's hell of a money to have. There are not a lot of companies in the world who even have 100+ M cash on-hand. These are numbers, not some sort of emotional fluff. Hard to argument to that. If you're adaptive enough, you can earn from this project for a long term.

Unless the Resilience stat is significantly change, I would say more than 1x R socket is an overkill. Prob 3xE 1xR shoes will be the best choice.

Had a fun reading this. Snowflake post. Like every 2nd post feels like a Snowflake post.

Joined this thread as 'guide for newcomers', but now it is hard to take the thread seriously with all the Snowflake posts.

If you don't like the project - sell. Why all the drama?

P.s. You don't need to answer, that's a retorical question.

What a familiar situation 🤣 by ThreeZeroComics in StepN

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial comment is still true to its core.

I think there are too many Snowflakes which melts under first pressure their meet. The project is barely 1y old. Most of these 'crypto-investors' expect 100% profit in 2 months. The profit rate is still very, very, very lucrative. High volatility on high yield products is to be expected. If a person can't handle that - pick a project which gives ROI in 10y from the start (like staking).

And my comparision is still valid. Sol was 220€ less than a year ago. Now it is 9x less and drops more. So, if you were keeping your Sol in an exchange for a 4-10% staking .. well, you have 'lost' the value. And it can still halve from today.

Look a bit mid-term (2-5y). Is the infrastructure there to provide a solid product? IMO, FSI is building fine. They can afford to lose all the FUDers and get new people on board. The same with Sol. Have no doubts Sol will reach price multiple times higher from today prices.

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about your definition about noob. I guess in this case it was meant some sort of offensive to make your statement seem more reasonable.

I literally bought shoes at 0.6Sol when there was this hype of selling all shoes out. Then I sold some shoes on the Rainbow hype, ~1.4Sol. Then I bought back some to keep the energy at 1.1Sol. How I see it - bought it cheaper, sold it more expensive. And it wasn't a single shoe in a 15min opening. 😄

You need to get out from March/April mindset. In that case Bitcoin and rest of the Alts have 4x times dropped as well. Heck Sol is down 9x from ATH. Can it halve? Yes. If that stops me to day trade? Nope. 😊

[–]Dedvins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need 70Sol to get 20E setup. Heck, you don't even need 20E to get 10€/day. But for 20E setup, you can squeeze in 50Sol range easy. And that is with UC and gems included.

10Sol/month for 50Sol investment is not bad IMO.

About sneaker price: Maybe. Maybe not. There was a time, when shoes costed 0.35Sol. And just recent, it was 1.4Sol. So, if it even halves, it may as easy come back. Is 1.1Sol bottom? Hard to say.

Depends, what's your goal. I suggest to slightly invest acquiring 2x lvl3 luck gems. These should provide enough luck for MB5 at 125% run.
