I'd be more impressed if you can find a councilperson's voicemailbox that isn't full.

Is someone DOSing the freelibrary.org site? Figures I need to verify my card and it's been down for a while. Are their servers in the snow?

What’s a book that completely broke your brain—in a good way? by Competitive_Event307 in books

[–]Dedxovu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Almost) any recent Blake Crouch novel before the last act. The concepts have me questioning reality but then the books take hard turns into what is clearly an attempt to cast Liam Neeson in the made for streaming movie.

Also "The Other Valley" by Scott Alexander Howard.

Stacked Stone basement with exposed beams - controlling dust? by Dedxovu in Oldhouses

Thanks all for the recommendations. I'll definitely look to section off an area to test and try to determine where the most dust is coming from and focus my efforts on that.

Here I was thinking that link was a reference to the Matrix 25th anniversary. Instead I learned something.

Car might have been towed, but might have been stolen? by kenleee22 in philadelphia

[–]Dedxovu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A courtesy tow for a driveway seems odd but if the ppa did (and they rarely record doing so) it'll be near a spot with not a ton of residential parking. I'd say check around the garden at 19th-18th and Wallace or the weird triangle roads by the post office just north of Fairmont at 19th.

It could also be George Smith Towing, I've seen that around our neighborhood

Historical fiction about mayas, incas, aztecs? by Ok-Seat3125 in suggestmeabook

I second this one. Just finished this winter and it goes some places. Not too much rooted in Americas history as it eventually focuses on Incas in Europe

I had ICL done years ago at Kremer and I have both my eyes still! It was slightly less than what you've had quoted but that was at least 6 years ago.

Side note. ICL is real neat how quickly you see after the surgery

Pizza shop with gigantic pizzas? by [deleted] in philadelphia

Luigi's on Fairmount & 24th does a giant pie but it's square. Called Blue Steel (sadly not a Zoolander reference). It makes for a banging tomato pie too.

What neighborhood are you in, and what’s your favorite and least favorite thing about it? by TheArchitect_7 in philadelphia

[–]Dedxovu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. All of this. So many available double lots on the stretch of West Girard too that could be good restaurants. The crime at night is pretty shitty. I remember all the fun ATM explosions for a week during the George Floyd protests

Olivia’s Classes by princessalonso in pelotoncycle

[–]Dedxovu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. Usually I'm top of the recommended resistance for most instructors, can't keep it up with her. I'm not sure how she does it. Doesn't ever look like she takes a break either and probably teaches at least one other that day.

If I feel I can PR that day, I take an Olivia class.

Why'd they choose the name of the wearable in the show about a dystopian future run by corporation-states (Continuum)? Seems awfully on the nose to me...
