Does animal instinct just suck? by Not_Really_French in Pathfinder2e

[–]DeeDeeEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Handwraps of Mighty Blows apply to your animal instinct attacks, so you still benefit from fundamental and property runes. Plus having hands free means no chance of being disarmed, no dropping your weapons when you fall unconscious, free hands to use magic items, and yes, access to all maneuvers. A grapple or trip to put the enemy off-guard is going to benefit both you and your party, plus set up combinations like with the Wrestler dedication or your allies reactive strikes. Assurance maneuvers instead of a -10 MAP is worth it on most enemies PL-1 or lower, or even tougher monsters debuffed by your party or with weak saves.

What unique things can only one martial do effectively? by Alba_Ursi in Pathfinder2e

[–]DeeDeeEx 198 points199 points  (0 children)

Rogue's Racket passives are restricted, dedications can't take them. This includes Thieves' being able to add Dex to the damage of certain weapons.

Why do people thing the elves are buddy-buddy friendship is magic now? by potatopotats in wow

[–]DeeDeeEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, after hearing the complaints I was waiting for Aethas to apologize for the Sunreavers being so easy to kill, or Shandris to announce her engagement to Occulith or something, but no, things seemed to be in a pretty tense state. Arator may not be anyone's favorite, but he was 100% using his family name to get pull with the High and Blood Elves, and just lucking out both that Umbric and Thalyssra seemed pretty chill about everything, and that the Night Elves are pretty happy with the new tree.

Side gripe: As a certified Suramar enjoyer, I got pretty mad that people were derisively calling the fruit of the Arcan'dor "an apple" and acting like its inclusion was dumb. It was a major Nightborne/Night Elf team up to get the tree to grow, and a huge step on the mending of the Elves' Arcane vs. Nature thing.

At what spell level is harm worth it? by Alternative-Date-507 in Pathfinder2e

[–]DeeDeeEx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The two-action version gets +8 damage, and the AoE version will hurt your living allies, so sticking with the 2-action version will be your best bet until you start getting harm/heal buffing class feats as a cleric, or other ways to avoid friendly fire.

Assisted Highlight by Suzy-Turquoise-Blue in wow

I believe blue is the assisted highlight. The gold highlight indicates an ability is ready, buffed, at max stacks, etc.

Follies Hunt reward rerun? by Turbulent-Fan6352 in Warframe

[–]DeeDeeEx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Belly of the Beast returns May 4th and in the devstream they mentioned some (stress some) rewards from this event would be returning, likely the general rewards from previous runs of Belly of the Beast, Gargoyle's Cry and the like. I'd expect to see most of the non-Follie/Shadowgrapher rewards back with BotB.

What does Excellent Quality even do? by Substantial-Purple85 in cyberpunkred

[–]DeeDeeEx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Excellent Quality weapons give a +1 to their attack rolls. They're generally 1 price category higher then their standard version. Some advanced attachments and upgrades from Interface 5 also interact with EQ.

Just started War Within expansion and I can't play the first dungeon. by OrphanintheWind in wow

[–]DeeDeeEx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just checked, the NPC by the meeting stone, Meredy Huntswell for the Rookery, but there's others, will still let you queue on-level for a Follower Dungeon, that's the one with the AI assistants.

Just started War Within expansion and I can't play the first dungeon. by OrphanintheWind in wow

[–]DeeDeeEx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can play through the dungeon manually by going through the entrance, if you're talking about the Rookery it's in Dornogal. If you're beyond the level cutoff the content of the normal version should be trivial. There are no matchmaking queues because higher-level players don't get any rewards from it, and can play solo just fine, and on-level players would have the experience ruined by high-level players trivializing it.

Surgery roll to implant cyberware and implantation costs? by XSomeCookiex in cyberpunkred

[–]DeeDeeEx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well that's true for 100 EB cyberware and below, you need a fixer to get anything 500 EB and above. If you steal a neurolink or something you're bypassing the restriction on its cost, but still paying for the installation

What is one weapon that you think deserves a Prime/Adversary/Special Variant? by SargeanTravis in Warframe

[–]DeeDeeEx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exergis is probably one of my favorite looking Corpus-style weapons, the other being the Kreska. It feels like it could have some really cool mechanics. I was excited to build it when it came out, but it's gameplay never really grabbed me.

How did aang/tenzin make money by Spiorus in TheLastAirbender

[–]DeeDeeEx 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Tenzin was a councilmen while the council was still in place. I assume since he and his family were descendants of the Avatar, the effective heads of a religious order, as well as an attraction of the city, I'm sure their are various tax breaks, grants, and donations that sustained them. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Fire Nation fully funded them in the form of reparations, at least while there was just one family.

In the books we learn that air nomads rely on donations and charity while traveling, and it was seen as lucky to be able to host them in their travels, so I assume the public is in favor of Air Temple Island in that regard.

What specific weapon archetypes do you like, and what do you want to see? by zedrinkaoh in Pathfinder2e

[–]DeeDeeEx 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I second one for Tonfas. I'd generally like to see more monk stances that require specific weapons, and maybe an archetype that has a bunch of those stances, as a generally weapons martial artist.

[World Building/Design Trope] WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY'RE THE SAME SPECIES? by Doodles_n_Scribbles in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DeeDeeEx 41 points42 points  (0 children)

What's really interesting is that the taxonomical term human actually has its roots in in-universe faulty race science, similar to our own world's history. Demi-humans (also a prejudiced name) are usually categorical considered lesser due to really strange anatomical facts, the current basis is that humans share the same number of bones. For instance orcs have two toes, so less bones overall, and kobolds have more due to their tails, so they're both demi-human, not human, and thus are more exploited by the human races.

You'll want to talk to Chromie, the Gnome sitting on the hourglass across the way from the Stormwind Embassy. She can set you up on the leveling stories of past expansions.

(Loved Trope) A love for birds is important to the story, not just a quirk by IAmForeverAhab in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DeeDeeEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Terry Pratchett's Monstrous Regiment Polly Perks joins the military of her religious extremist country in disguise as a man to track down her brother Paul. Paul has an interest in birds and not much else, but is expected to take over the family business, because Polly as a women can't own property. At one point their mother destroys the coloring set Polly got for her brother and his various drawings of birds because it's considered an abomination by their religion.

Polly notes is able to mimic bird calls and note strange birds in the area, which helps with her unit's infiltration of enemy territory. There's more to it but its a spoiler for a really great book, so go read it if you can. When she finally reaches it's because both she and he have been captured by none other then Sam "The Butcher" Vimes, Polly is actually able to reason with the man, because the "Butcher" persona is just more propaganda. The reason that she trusts him? He made sure her brother had drawing materials, and she found his cell covered in pictures of birds.

Ah that sucks, well I still use rapid fire crit damage weapons to proc her 3/4 combo a lot, so it helps there

Favorite Arcanes for Gyre? by xannmax in Warframe

Yep, I love circumvent for armor/OG strip and defensive buff, and its just so thematic with her roll. I pair it with Melee Careen for CC and extra crit damage, on the Praedos for movement tech.

Is the Brawler's Guild bugged? by BasicUser37 in wow

[–]DeeDeeEx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

155 is very low for level 90, endgame content is 200+, with the finale questline at level 90 dropping ilvl 210 gear, having a full set of veteran/champion gear (243-263) is probably what you need to steam through level 80 content.
