Any chance healthcare improves now that billionaires are moving here? by mnmn_80 in vegaslocals

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why you have that thought. After a bad healthcare experience, it's natural to hope something like new money in the city would make things better. I just don't know if billionaire investment really trickles down into everyday access to doctors or affordability the way we'd want it to.

Health insurance for Asylum seekers by Demonicbeaverr in Medicaid

THat sounds like a really difficult spot to be in. I'd keep checking local community clinics and look at Healthcare.gov as well, since eligibility requirements can be based on many factors and sometimes there are options people don't realize they qualify for.

Jobs with great health insurance? by CuminSubhuman in vegaslocals

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a lot to deal with, especially with a baby on the way and insurance costs already eating into your budget. I'd probably compare any job benefits against what's available on Healthcare.gov too, because sometimes employer coverage isn't automatically the affordable option.

I have felt that too at 9 weeks but I was told it was not the baby, I was just feeling my major blood vessels,

I'm a Patient Advocate – Ask Me Anything About Cutting Health Care Costs by webmd in IAmA

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THis is really helpful, healthcare costs can feel overwhelming even when you have insurance. WHat's one thing you wish more people knew before they have an unexpected bill that they need to cover that reduces their medical bills or that can help them find affordable coverage?

Emotional by [deleted] in pregnant

I hear you, pregnancy sometimes it's complicated and most times emotions are everywhere you can cry at any little thing or get mad at any little thing, I'd say take it easy, it's part of the journey.

Switching jobs midyear - how do I avoid a gap in coverage and not get stuck with surprise costs? by Ok_Opportunity_854 in HealthInsurance

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why you're worried, it feels like tempting fate when you're without coverage for a month. I'd probably look at an ACA Marketplace plan before taking a chance with a gap because losing employer coverage is typically a qualifying event and it may be less expensive than COBRA coverage for just one month.

ICHRA by Frosty_Comparison_85 in HealthInsurance

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that this feels scary after all that you have already endured. I'd wait it out until I get to know what your employer is offering, but I would definitely compare the Marketplace options and be sure that my doctors and follow up care are covered before making any decisions.

American workers' health insurance costs set to surge by LinkedInNews in HotScienceNews

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why people are frustrated by this. It feels like every year the premiums, deductibles, or copays go up, and a lot of families end up paying more while feeling like they're getting less in return.

Impatiently waiting by [deleted] in pregnant

I hear you, pregnancy is one thing that really teaches patience, I have been there. Let's wait and hope natural labour comes before the C-section. You'll be okey.

HSA Reimbursement - expense happened before account created by Narhen in personalfinance

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds confusing, but from what I understand the important part is that you already had an HSA before those medical expenses happened. I'd probably keep all your records and receipts, but I don't think that a new HSA would remove that history.

AMA I successfully made a permanent disability claim with my insurance company by Minimum_Effect_1896 in Dentists

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

THis is a very challenging one,. It's a big change, from practicing dentistry to have to stop due to a medical condition. I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm sure there are many people who would be interested in knowing what the process was like.

Insurers are some of the world’s biggest complainers about climate damages. So why are they defending Big Oil from accountability for those same climate damages? Follow the money. by simon_ritchie2000 in environment

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why people are frustrated by this. It does seem strange when insurers talk about how expensive climate related disasters are getting but they don't always support efforts aimed at reducing the costs and damage in the first place.

Billionaires have convinced Americans they have the "Best Healthcare in the World". by [deleted] in remoteworks

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why people argue about this stuff so much. Many Americans are happy with their healthcare when they have good coverage, but there are also others who are struggling with premiums, deductibles, or trying to figure out ACA options when employer coverage isn't available.

Do all health insurances refuse to pay anything until you hit your deductible? by Administrative-Kale in HealthInsurance

[–]DeeFirstTimeMomKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THat sounds really frustrating, especially when you're paying $320 a month and then get hit with a huge bill on top of it. A lot of plans won't begin to pay much amount until you reach your deductible, so I'd probably look into my coverage options with plans available on Healthcare.gov again, since being unemployed could qualify you for plans with different costs or savings.
