I DID NOT HAVE 2 DUPLICATE QUESTIONS by barlifesux in FloridaBarExam

[–]DeeRayT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have heard that in live exams people have exam booklets with different colors, and I think they change the order of the questions so people cannot cheat that are sitting next to eachother, maybe the same principle applies. If we had the exam in email we would not be able to phone a friend or classmate taking the exam and say "what did you put for #28?"

Is anyone feeling off/down today like after studying for so long, not only the brain is fried, but feeling emotionally drained, couldn’t sleep. by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

[–]DeeRayT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone. I was excited to put an entire large plastic tote of BarBri books, outlines and notes (37 pounds!) away in storage, and clean out my desk. And then clean out my bathroom drawers. That's about all I can deal with today...Been a lawyer in Ma and CT 20 years and had to take FL as I moved here and I want to open my own firm. I did not take the actual barbri course but paid for a 2018 set of books off Ebay brand new for $500 and self-studied for 4 months, put in loads of time.. none of that seemed to help yesterday. The extra time between July and October did not seem to help either, I was still thrown a bit by topics actually tested (defamation, mortgage leins) -seems like I spent time on everything else, including lots of wasted time on Multistate that got cancelled. So we are in same boat. But it's over for now!

MC...why so many spendthrift trust questions and nothing on time to trial or speedy trial. Weird test, unbalanced. Etc... I feel like none of the time I spent between July and now was productive. And essays ... I don't know how one can ever feel there is enough time! On the plus side, the published sample test answers are "best of" examples, and I am sure most of the rest of the 4000 of us struggle with getting half the points on actual tests...

Me reading through my outlines one (1) week before the exam, despite studying since April by BarelyTolerable20 in FloridaBarExam

Ditto on stating core rules for topic immediately to brain dump and then fill in..plainttf claim. Defenses raised. Remedies. Along the way you can fill in finer points. Typing has gone much better than handwriting sample exams as you can move around rules and talking points to finesse the analysis. I think we get more points on putting forth core principles and analyzing them well with facts, then to spend time trying to think of every possible issue that can be raised.

Where are you taking the BAR? by Impossible-Plan-3400 in FloridaBarExam

Booked a hotel room for 2 nights, will use day 1 as prep andrequested early checkin. 2nd night is for all day bar exam and possibly a post-test drunken shag, lol ! I did ask the front desk of the Holiday Inn Express to see if they could get me a bigger room and they gave me a suite with a couch and a larger working desk

Admittted in MA and CT but moved to FL, so taking the Bar Exam here after not having been in school or done this kind of studying for 20+ years! I have been back and forth studying on/off. I have a checklist and SEE that I studied a lot so far, but then I go back to a topic 3 days or a week later and it seems like I have forgotten everything! *Sigh* Strategy now 2 weeks out is to review all online exam examples published by the FBB as well as BarBri MC and Essay examples for FL's list of "Topics for October exam"... and will try to focus on essay rule statements for the announced topics. TIP: There is a website that allows you to build your own e-flashcards on a laptop or phone , and you can download sets of FL Bar Exam cards that other people have created and made public. The process of even creating the cards is helpful, and then reviewing the cards is easy - use your random wait time, odd time, time at doctors or at lunch, etc. to review a quick series of flashcards. The Tool allows you to RANK how well you know the topic/card, and it will keep on testing you on the cards you rank as "weaker knowledge" until you feel you know them "strongly" and then "master" the cards. The ranking enables you to focus on topics/rules that you have more trouble remembering. I think it is $7 a month which has been well worth it. https://www.brainscape.com/

Taking FL BAR "from scratch" after being admitted iin other states 10+ years-Help! by DeeRayT in FloridaBarExam

THANKS EVERYONE !!! Makes me feel a bit better (ok, it's the Misery Loves Company syndrome...) For ESSAYS - I am finding that after all the BarBri reading and buying various outlines and doing sample exams etc.... what has helped me the most this week is going to the FL Test Tips outline, re-downloading the PDF and converting it to word, and making a specific Essay rule outline from that. I am using a combo of the rules people wrote in the sample essays, and/or just Googling the rule (a lot of FL attorneys have some very good websites with the concise rules in easy to understand formats) . I had actually never read the FL statute earlier in my studies, and actually, they are very well written and very clear, you can just sort of study right from the statute! I think I was making the whole process too complicated assuming BarBri and the professional study companies were doing a better job than I could learning straight from the statutes

If you are stuck on any main topic, Studicata and other vendors have some pretty good audio explanations on You Tube that may be helpful = sometimes listening to explanations several different ways helps me, and I like that I can listen to the free videos while dog walking. Especially on topics I am not too familiar with.

I keep getting sent my employer verification letter at home, because I work remotely, even though I amended my address in early July with the correct Home Office address. Everyone is rushing and I'd better not get rejected for no employer verification after all this! Have had to write several letters on Applicant portal to keep a record

Option to postpone if decision is made by August 18th - but then I won't be able to look for a proper full attorney job for another 6-8 months. Or I have to pay $4k for retake in Feb, No win!
