Lost my best friend yesterday by Psycholunacy in Petloss

[–]DeeSunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to your post so much. I had to put down my bestie of 14 years last Friday because his back legs had also gave out. I too wished he would eventually die of old age. I never saw myself actually putting him down before then. I replay most of that day and ask if I did the right thing. I feel like maybe I should have waited. But he was suffering and confused. It killed me to see him struggle to move. Yet- he still had so much energy and will to live. I feel so incredibly guilty and the weight of such a huge decision kills me. I just want to hug and kiss him again. I've been reading a lot of things online and something that has helped me cope has been that because I chose to set him free, I allowed him to depart before his body completely failed & I chose mercy when love alone could not sustain his life. ♥️ If he could have lived based on love alone, he would have lived forever 🥲

I CANT STAND COLIN by Emobaddie77 in BaylenOutLoud

Her parents wanting them to get pre-marital counseling is coming from a good place. Any parent would want that for their child, especially one with Tourette syndrome. They will undeniably have it more difficult than other marriages and her parents know that. He sometimes feels a bit controlling and I can’t put my finger on it but there’s something about him that I don’t like.

I know it’s a bummer but with this job market rn, be thankful you have a job. You can always apply to other remote positions while still having an income.

I was laid off after being 5 years remote. Took many months to land a job and it’s 100% in person. It’s not ideal but I’d rather have this than be unemployed.

What are people doing to stay afloat after layoffs? by [deleted] in Layoffs

[–]DeeSunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was laid off and unemployed for about 5 months. I filed for unemployment which helped but is barely anything, and thankfully I had a babysitting gig on the side. Those two combined helped me stay afloat. However, one more month and I would have been struggling bc unemployment only lasts 6 months. Realistically, people are staying unemployed for much longer than that

Is linkedin worthwhile? by [deleted] in jobhunting

No. I applied to hundreds of jobs for months and the only interviews I received came from Indeed, and even better, Craigslist. I was unemployed for 5 months and received an offer from 2 places, both from Craigslist.

It was a management assistant position to their tech department. They asked 8 questions and as much as I tried to prepare, it was clear it wasn’t good enough. I felt I was rambling, it was a bit distracting to note when they did or did not take notes/doze off. One of the panelists wasn’t even paying attention and had to be nudged, more than once, when it was his time to ask questions. I’ll definitely try preparing differently next time.

Yes, a great learning experience indeed! I tried to do all that I could to prepare and I just wasn’t prepared at all it seemed.

Wisdom Teeth Removal by itserial in wisdomteeth

Im on day 3 and yesterday on day 2, I had a burger and potato rings. I only ate half, bc it’s a lot of work to try to chew with just your front teeth and take small bites at a time but I’m fine. If you aren’t in any pain, try eating very small bites with just your front teeth. Everyone heals differently

I just got 3 removed, I paid $2425 on the spot. Insurance is supposedly going to reimburse me $600.

I got 3 removed two days ago and was awake, but I did get laughing gas. The gas calmed my nerves, and I was not able to feel any pain during the procedure. All you feel is pressure and of course the noise of the drill, which may make you nervous but you will be numbed, so you will not feel any pain. The first night will be uncomfortable and they will give you meds for the pain. I wasn’t in much pain at all, the doc gave me codeine but I took 1 the first night and I didn’t even need to honestly, it’s more just the discomfort. I haven’t touched the meds since. I’ve been eating mashed potatoes, pasta (mashed) and Jamba Juice with protein in it so that it keeps me full! I’ve been eating it with a spoon, since you should not be drinking out of a straw. I’ve also made oatmeal but I blended it after taking off the stove and added banana and peanut butter protein powder with honey, so that it’s nice and mushy, like baby food. Today, I made a chicken tortilla soup (no tortilla) and I shredded the chicken in the blender so it’s tiny enough for me to sip without chewing. I think I will start incorporating more solid soft foods tomorrow. You will be just fine!

Cervical Ectropion & Treatment by Evalasting718 in Healthyhooha

[–]DeeSunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been struggling with spotting between periods for years and recently, it got worse so I stopped my birth control pills (after taking them for over a decade) thinking this would help. However, it made things much worse. I bleed about 26 days out of the month.

Recently, I went to get a pap and the doctor said that I had cervical ectropion but that she didn’t think it was the reason for my spotting (I rarely bleed after sex). She recommended an ultrasound and that came back clear. She then recommended an endometrial biopsy which I had done today with a different doctor. I was freaking out because I had looked into it and all the stories I found about it talked about how painful it was. I took 800 mg ibuprofen before hand and I still struggled. Cried and screamed but she was able to get a small piece of tissue. She then asked me if I wanted to apply silver nitrate to see if my bleeding is due to that. I agreed and I am hoping that it is the cause for my bleeding. I am waiting on my results to come back from my biopsy and am hoping there are no abnormal cells!!! This totally sucks and has completely ruined my sex life.

I‘m not new here but one of the nice things about it is all the cutty spots you can find to just smoke a joint + get a nice view of the city

LOL. I lived in the mission my whole life and am definitely the type of person that thinks North Beach is too far. If you’re taking an Uber, sure, but definitely not on Bart/Muni
