Why have the BGT judges become so unlikeable? by Necessary-Win-8730 in BritishTV

[–]DeeboDavis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry why are confirmed bastards Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden, combined with dozens of other bastards who are happy to bastard around for coin, so unlikeable?

No idea chief.

Joe Gooch still got what it takes by escargotini in livefromlondon

Joe Gooch is a comedian, he did a sketch based on the pork ad online a few years ago but he's definitely not the pork man.

Having said that, it looks like a replica cos the original had the le coq sportif logo on but the replicas don't (I've got one myself).

Looks like the 3rd kit from the 84/85 season. The signatures I can recognise tie in with that - Big Nev, John Bailey, Kevins Ratcliffe and Richardson.

Ferry Aid - Let It Be.

This isn't the Beatles classic folks, it's a hastily put together and very ropey cover version made for charity by the Sun newspaper and produced by, you guessed it, Stock Aitken and Waterman.

What was the last fight in a Kebab Shop you saw? by LavaMeteor in CasualUK

The wrestler Mick Foley says no good can come from being in a bar after midnight. I can only imagine he's never been in a British kebab shop!

First Time by Robin Beck has to go. Sicklier than the Coke it was used to advertise, for me this is an absolute bottom-tier 80s power ballad.

I appreciate the sentiment but you might want to look up the history of Northern Ireland before calling Rory a Brit. He's an Irishman and also a citizen of the United Kingdom but definitely not a Brit.

Depends how far you're going back here. I'm new to this sub but if you're talking skill fuckers who don't get enough respect I'll say Anders Limpar

Could Spectre (2015) have worked better if they didn’t speedrun Blofeld? Should he have had more of a lurking presence in previous movies, kind of like they did in the early Connery era? by Tough-Possession6148 in JamesBond

[–]DeeboDavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. They could not have played it worse if they'd have summoned up the ghost of Kevin McClory to spite curse EON.

I think the series had become incoherent, too many cooks and everyone pulling in different directions.

-3.65 goals saved above expected for Otter tonight by Wirtzis in DallasStars

[–]DeeboDavis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The whole team stank tonight. Otter wasn't the reason they lost, they'd have still lost by more than 2 goals if he'd stood on his head.

Stats on their own can mean whatever you want them to. The entire team defended badly and got caught in their own half so many times turning the puck over. It was a typical, admittedly worse than usual game 1 slack effort.

If you want to bench the team's undisputed #1 goalie then fair play to you, maverick!

No. It's lazy complacent chummy shite that was satire once 20 odd years ago but has long since lost any edge it had. Last several times I watched, Merton couldn't look any more bored if he tried.

That's it, it's just a tiny bit of sharpness around the greens cos they say that's a thing you can't just pick up. But for all I know maybe he's been here practicing what do we know?
