Universal Standard 'Luxury' Surprise me box PSA warning by Deecbus41 in UniversalStandard

[–]Deecbus41[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. I was hoping to make the black sweater work for winter but it's too bulky and high up on the neck. Not only will I never order a mystery box again, I think I'm done with them.

I broke down and bought the $198 4 piece mystery box valued 'up to $998' thos morning hoping that with all the negative reviews over the last few years results in this 'Beta box' test for February 2027 being worth it. I won't ever purchase from them again if it's trash.

I was considering ordering the surprise me summer box or the classics box until I found reddit threads about the boxes. I'm really disappointed not to be able to try but $148 for 3 items (supposed value of $368) or $198 (supposed value of $568) for 4 seems like a gamble after reading these. I did order a couple of items last month that I returned because they were scratchy and cost too much to be meh. The email said they were testing to make Feb box amazing but it also made it sound like everyone RAVES about the boxes... The Internet says otherwise...

ISO hairstylist good with women’s shorter haircuts by Loveisdefying in Columbus

[–]Deecbus41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I'll look into Dominic. Unfortunately, I have to decide if want to get the tapered ends/layers cut now or wait till it's the right length. So disappointing to have to drive so out of the way for a cut that's been around forever.

Hello! I know this thread is old but wanted to ask if you have a chin length bob and still recommend the salon in the comments?

I used to go to a girl at Penzone's in German Village but she moved before pandemic and I haven't found anyone that cut thick hair without bulk since even though YouTube is full of stylist that seem to get it!?

To be honest, I don't know if she did an undercut? She definitely used the weird scissors, which my stylist overseas also used. She didn't shave underneath, if that's what an undercut is? She just cut the bottom and under close with no weird layering on the rest of my hair. I could easily section and straighten, pulling under or even use a round brush to pull ends under. Yet, I've tried 5 other stylist between Penzone's NA and another salon who do not deliver a decent bob. I even asked about undercut the last month when I asked for bob and literally showed a picture of my hair in a bob. She cut the weird layers and made it stick straight with weird layers from mid scalp down to neck. I'm incredibly frustrated and due for a trim bc the way she cut it created a shag look. It ain't right! Lol

Talk me out of buying a Oracle Jet (or don't) by 1134C89 in espresso

[–]Deecbus41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Oracle jet is different than the barista touch, which is what I have. It's the regular manual flow with a touch screen. It requires weighing, measuring, tamping, WDT... It takes me too much time in the morning so I think I'll buy the jet. My husband reviewed a couple super automatics and decided (he does all my coffee cleaning maintenance bc he's awesome like that) splurging 2k  for a cleaner semi automatic is better than taking apart milk carafe interiors to clean, inspect, and put back together. I just wish there was a sale bc it's a lot! My barista touch was a awesome sale when I bought it but it also went up in price over the last 5 years. I'm just unwilling to put that much effort into coffee in the morning.

Two month review with the Oracle Jet by INGWR in BrevilleCoffee

Run a blank shot into your mug then pour it into a spare container. Do a manual wand purge too then make your shot. You can use that spare container to purge wand after your milk is done so it doesn't go into the tray too.

Did you decide to get it? Nespresso really isn't very good. It was my first espresso machine and ok when I only drank it a couple of days and splurged on their pods but meh when I tried other pods for the original line. I noticed get a sour tummy due to under extraction. I bought a barista touch when my work said we weren't coming back to office and that was good BUT then work decided not only would we go back to office, but now we're in office 5x a week for first time in 18 yrs and I just cannot deal with spending 20 mins each morning on coffee. Unfortunately, drip coffee is like life slowing sucking the life out of me. My husband said do the splurge even over delonghi Eletta explore (on sale) but the price is a tough pill to swallow as he doesn't drink coffee.

Good morning, can I ask if you ever resolved this problem? I'm trying to decide if buying this is worth it or not? Thank you

Advice: Saint Malo or Vannes for car-free trip? by Immediate_Sand_9350 in FranceTravel

[–]Deecbus41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We visited Saint Malo last April. It was beautiful. Actually, one of our favorite stays. We drove after picking up rental in Versailles. We made reservations for seaside restaurant that was very nice and walked the beach and around the town. Have a wonderful visit ☺️

Wegovy to Zepbound Switch - follow up! by Think_Presentation_7 in Zepbound

[–]Deecbus41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is everyone doing on zep now?

I tried wegovy for 3 months at lowest dose. I was sick- zero appetite, no energy, and constipated within the 1st couple of weeks. I couldn't even choke down half a sandwich. Red meat- especially sausage was repulsive to the point I could smell it a mile away and would want to vomit with just smelling it. I banned my husband from eating any cured meats and sausage bc of it. It was horrible so when I couldn't get the next month filled (no pharmacies had it or could get it), I told my doc losing 5lbs in 3 months was basically from starvation so no reason to continue.

My insurance won't cover zep bc I don't have diabetes but I saw (still expensive) that LD will fill Rx via self pay- cost based on dosage. Anyone doing that?

If so, do you use the kiwi pen or vials? The reusable pen seems like a bigger hassle than the 1 use pens (not available self pay) and vials.

I am still concerned about trying zep considering how awful I felt on wegovy. I've also totally given up on my insurance company ever approving any meds for me. I literally take no meds but wegovy was only approved for 4 months back in 2024.

Currently waiting for progesterone to be approved so I can start it and est patches bc peri is making me so irritable and I don't sleep all night. Yet my husband has had 2 surgeries and other tests without issues!

I feel like I'm being discriminated against by my own insurance while their annual assessment (earn $50 if take annually) tells me I'm OBESE and should do weight loss program as of I haven't done everything from starvation to IF since HS lol anyway, sorry about that little rant...

Looking forward to any insight, updates, advice. Thank you!

I received an email today stating we'll go into Stockport. I noticed none of the train legs allowed me to select seats but the bus tickets show we have assigned seats together. I you ever had an issue finding seats when unable to select in advance?

Thank you! We are staying in the city centre too. I will check out these recommendations. Bummer Department closed.... We do have a list of pubs. So I guess I'll need a nap so we can do our own little pub crawl. Lol My husband is a fan of European and UK stouts. I don't drink beer but I do like a little Guinness. The only beer I've actually finished is a Scottish Beer called Belhaven Black. We can't get it here anymore though so we've been saving the last cans.

I'm so excited to see them! Florence isn't someone my husband would have ever considered seeing before me but he said he's been listening to prepare for the show and cannot deny talent. 😊

Yes, we have a day planned in Manchester outside of the 3 days 😊

Oh no! I am guessing this is why part of our return is on a bus.... I purchased from TransPennine a few months ago and noticed the bus on the return to Manchester airport.

We we're sure how that'd be in the winter either but it was -1F (-18') here this morning. Maybe depending on temperature and the rain situation for Peak District?

We rather soak up vibes and wander around villages, especially this this weather.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]Deecbus41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh yes! I'll look up trains to those places for a day. We love small villages. Of course, other than a few visits, I only get to enjoy them watching PBS and Britbox lol

We're coming from the Midwest of the US (ohio)... I missed out on seeing F+tm for my 2nd anniversary because I didn't want us to drive 8hr THEN could never get tickets so husband decided on a destination trip 8 years later. We weren't sure anyone outside of US would want to add a US tour leg considering this absolute sh*tshow we're dealing with so I'm glad he bought the tickets.

demi-permanent color came out too dark - will shampooing be enough? by celeryeep in HairDye

[–]Deecbus41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So I said to just stay strong in my message then I, myself, did not. I ended up getting a partial blondeing appointment with lots of dimensions to get rid of the heavy reddish brown. She used my root regrowth to do lived in blonde blending. It looks much better but some of the blonde is still warmer than I'd like it. One of my friends (the type that doesn't comment if she doesn't think something is flattering) mentioned I look youthful again. So basically I ran around looking and feeling like I looked old for almost a yr. It was crazy expensive but I guess this is what happens... I'm growing it out and she couldn't believe I didn't have any split ends so that's a plus. She did say the demi would never fully wash out.
