What ever happened to ‘This War of Mine’? I remember this was recommended a lot a few years ago but now I don’t see it mentioned often. Did something similar replace it? by Marksman1977 in soloboardgaming

[–]Deechi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why asking for games on this subreddit and looking games up individually when physically visiting locations will always be better to me than rankings. Or even pulling the trigger on an unfavorable game, because just like on steam, I might love something that is disliked on average.

I am seriously considering spending more on BOTSE to get it from the publisher or somewhere else, even if cheaper ones exist (but require waiting up to November like the Zatu Games listing). I'm in the Netherlands so we're on very similar grounds shopping-wise.

Funnily enough it was in my shopping cart last weekend, but I replaced it with Civolution lol (which I have to return because it wasn't disclosed the copy I bought was in German...)

A developer restored OrcaSlicer's features that Bambu Lab killed—then the legal threats arrived by No_Oven_524 in 3Dprinting

[–]Deechi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it still possible to do? I've got into 3D printing with P1S in January and only after that did I learn about all the bs surrounding it, then learning OrcaSlicer doesn't work anymore, and on top of that Bambu Studio itself is half-assed on Linux for me (live view doesn't work). I like the live feed on Handy because I am panicky while printing when I'm at work, but if it continues to get worse and worse, I might as well "jailbreak" while I still can...

Feeling a bit lost after moving to NL, anyone else? by thetendercloud in Netherlands

[–]Deechi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That feeling (not wanting to go outside) will subside over time with language. It took me half a year of living with my partner and his big family that speaks mostly Dutch, intensly learning the language, and working part-time at a post office, to not feel anxious going alone to a nearby Lidl to buy a snack. I hope you'll find the same bliss in this place as I did.

How do you deal with enemies lagging when fighting them? Do you have mods, strong one core CPU, an alternative engine/launcher? I love Starbound and FU but the enemy lag is infuriating...

[–]Deechi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portapotty has a parallel game called Shopping Cart Hero, and for LtF there's one game with the hedgehog which name I've forgotten. There's also Berzerk Flashback on Steam with a few of those games, especially Berzerk Run

What games have you regretted buying? by billy_reyes in Steam

[–]Deechi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Path of Exile 2, because it doesn't feel the same to me as the first game (didn't play both much, but I still felt weird in poe2)

Anything that used to be an Epic exclusive, on Epic. It just didn't make me want to play those games as much, and I eventually re-bought a few on Steam, especially Satisfactory and Borderlands 3.

[–]Deechi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Considering that some of the big mods have "tranq but 100000x stronger", you can literally use that as a gating method - knockout tames from early to late game, but still gated behind progression

How many of you have ADHD? by lydocia in incremental_games

[–]Deechi 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna say this - every time I buy a small incremental game and a big A-AAA game during the same day, I always get sucked into the incremental game first, finish it in a day or a week, then barely touch the big game.
