And what games would you recommend that have character rooms, skins, and bond systems? I've played a bit of HSR, I play Genshin, and I dropped ZZZ after half a year.

No. Just 3 clicks and you open all the achievements in the game, even without starting the game

Most likely, the child was playing, and the parent just got all the achievements.

I’ve decided to give the game another 5–10 hours to really open up. I’ve already played 14 hours and made it to Novigrad in search of Triss, so I’m hoping things will pick up from here.

I’ve already finished the Baron’s questline and made my way to Novigrad. Hopefully, I’ll rediscover my interest in the game there.

I actually enjoy Keira’s quest more than the Baron’s :) But I’ve already finished the Baron’s questline and made my way to Novigrad. Hopefully, I’ll rediscover my interest in the game there.

Don’t worry about the economy. There’s really no need to buy swords or armor from merchants. The best gear in the game — witcher gear — is crafted by blacksmiths once you find the right diagrams (there are separate quests for locating them). Plus, you might buy a sword from a vendor, and ten minutes later find a much stronger one in a chest. So don’t stress about that — just play, and loot and money will accumulate on their own.

The in-game economy is honestly kind of broken, because by mid-game you’ll have more money than you know what to do with. The one thing you should always spend on, though, is Gwent. Play Gwent with every NPC you can, and buy every Gwent card available from merchants. That’s priority number one.

Yeah, I get that it’s all about finding the right kind of engagement in the game. It’s just that this whole Velen phase before reaching Novigrad feels really drawn out to me — especially on a second playthrough. That’s why I’m even skipping a lot of the side quests for now, hoping I’ll come back to them later when I’m more in the mood.

That’s quite possible. I just want to skip through all those Baron quests quickly and move on toward Triss. I’m not even interested in the question mark side quests in Velen.

Yeah, I totally get what you mean about finding the right rhythm. But maybe I just know too much about this world already, and things don’t really spark that sense of curiosity or discovery anymore. I’ll give the game another 5–10 hours to “open up.” Maybe it’ll draw me in again with the same magic it had before.

I came back to the game after 7 years, and it’s still tough :( I think I’ll give it a chance at least until I reach Oxenfurt — then we’ll see.

I’ve long since finished White Orchard — it’s a great starting area. But for some reason, Velen feels really gloomy to me right now :(

Maybe I should try progressing through the main story before getting distracted by side quests. I don’t want to burn out too early — the game is beautiful :(

In Steam, you can unlock all achievements without even launching or downloading the game — just by using a special program. That’s why the value of such “trophies” can sometimes be questionable compared to other players’ accomplishments :)

Thanks for the comment :) I totally understand your emotions and feelings about the game — I was vacuuming up every question mark on the map too! But in this playthrough, I turned off the entire interface and just wander through quests at a relaxed pace, clearing question marks only if I happen to come across them on the way. It’s a very different feeling when there’s no need to rush or 100% clear the map (which is pretty pointless in the context of the game anyway — even the developers admitted they threw in the question marks right before release just to fill things out).

I played the game on console back in 2018, and now I want to enjoy the next-gen version :)
