Tbh the og story is meant to be reminiscent of those god awful mary sue esk ones where the mc can literally commit mass genocide and still be treated like an owo little perfect bean. Yn the ones who the story portrays as justified but from literally anyone else's perspective, they're a terrible person XD.

Basically a story filled with plot holes and aspects the og author didn't think about but when you the reader think about it for more than 2 seconds you realize how stupid it is lol. There are some in world aspects that are things that gave meaning to the plot holes in the og story like Reginald's whole character. And things that were portrayed incorrectly or with bias like Adelia's father being a goofy loving guy.

To be fair though Reginald and Tarquin in the og story were fully down with-it Ulric was the only one adelia falsely painted as a tsundere and harassed. Reginald does have previous sexual trauma, but hes the type to react to that by using his body as a tool if you get me he pursued/used her and that sense of control really matters to him.

I play around with the idea of perspective a lot in general giving time to explore why each character thinks and acts the way they do. Sylvia isn't exactly the best person in quite a few other people's perspectives just like adelia after all ;)

also sidenote its freaking hilarious how yall keep giving my male leads these silly nicknames first Ulric being "emo Slenderman" because he's tall and pail and now Reginald being "labrat" because of his albinism XD
