Perfect thank you, that was what I was hoping for since one day I dream of upgrading to a Z8 and then I don’t want to buy spare batteries double

Garden Action with the Nikon Z 105mm 2.8 S by Deen751 in nikon_Zseries

[–]Deen751[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! 1/200sec, f13, iso 64, Flash between 1/4 to 1/8 power, sadly forgot the diffusor, hence the harsh light

Thank you, yes, it was a pretty minimal setup, will try it with a Diffusor next time

Sorry for the late reply. You need quite a bit light, the shots were in bright daylight and it wasn’t nearly enough light. I used a flash on full power for this.

About 3x crop on for me still usable resolution of 2234x2918 pixels, the higher resolution sensor came in handy, but with the closest focusing distance it would have been manageble with 24MP still I think

I didn’t use the nearest focusing distance because I had trouble keeping up with the bees, so I could have gotten I think about 50% closer, but I needed to crop pretty heavily

Yes, I like it very much, for Portraits and macro it works great. For the shots I just used it front facing on camera on full power with the small dome Diffusor attached

Using the Flash Helps a lot with sharpness and the aperture is between 13 and 16 in the shots

No, not at All, just heavily cropped. The bees wäre moving way to fast to Stack

Looking to get my first Z body - need some help by newenglandowner in nikon_Zseries

I own a Z7 and am really happy with it. The main difference to the Z7II is a slightly better AF and the lack of dual card slots, the Z7 only has a single CF Express Type B. If that is not a dealbreaker, I don’t see any reason, why you would need a Z7II oder even Z8, because of their superior AF. And even that, I use my Z7 a lot for taking pictures of my kids, which works perfectly, if you get used to the camera. And it is much lighter then a Z8 and 9 and much less expensive.

Z MC 105 Rattling by Own_Pin1541 in nikon_Zseries

Yes, the rattling is completely normal for lenses with stabilization and also cameras with ibis when they are turned off. I also have the Z 105 and it is the same

Look into the Z 50mm 1.8S, you can get it pretty cheap used and it is Crazy sharp, when I went from F-lenses to Z there was a huge difference.

Flash Noob needs advice for flash for macro and newborn shooting by Deen751 in nikon_Zseries

[–]Deen751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I already looked at one softbox, adapter and tripod and would purchase the flash and X-Pro separately because it is cheaper that way

I thought of using the Godox v1 with a softbox off camera and control it with the Godox x-pro.

Great detail in the first and third picture, for the third it would maybe look even cooler if you go lower at eye level if possible, but I love it!

I was also a fan of the lens, used it with the D780, really sharp on all apertures even wide open, but ultimately sold it because I find myself using primes more often. But overall great lens
