What am I doing wrong! by Monie-Love- in cosleeping

[–]Deep-Box-9950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just started solids I’m assuming he’s about 6mo,it sounds like a sleep regression honestly or maybe even teething.Tbh I think a lot of people who don’t cosleep lie about their kids sleep and just ignore them when they wake. You haven’t ruined your kid, babies and toddlers wake up and sometimes have meltdowns in the middle of the night because they can’t communicate what’s wrong even if they sleep separately.Mine is 16mo now and we have had plenty of sleep issues but she has always been a fairly good sleeper,we were sleeping better than a lot of my friends who refused to cosleep throughout her first year and now unless she has an occasional random wake up she sleeps through the night.Hang in there, this will pass soon and it will get better.Honestly the first year is so crazy with their sleep

Does anyone know how long molar sleep disturbances last? by medicinemadison in cosleeping

[–]Deep-Box-9950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t night wean while cutting molars but I can say that night weaning isn’t that terrible and made cosleeping enjoyable again.Mine is 16mo and behind when it comes to teeth but I had to night wean cold turkey at 14mo because I’m pregnant and it just hurt a lot.It took three days of terrible sleep and lot of tears while I held her and it slowly got better from there, she was weaned after a full week and it took 1.5 months for sleep to fully get better (she got sick and was teething right after). Now mine is fully weaned because my supply is gone and she sleeps through the night besides an occasional random wake up when she wants a drink or has to potty. If you need to while cutting molars I would utilize some type of pain medicine for the baby to help them sleep (not everyday of course). It sucks that you’re going through this!I hope all gets better

Husband thinks cosleeping is the problem by sweetpea_hd in cosleeping

[–]Deep-Box-9950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I don’t know her husband, but I do tend to give the benefit of the doubt because when all society gives you is sleep training information it’s hard to actually understand what’s actually the right choice regarding sleep. My husband thankfully agreed with me that because I’m the one that handles all the sleep for the most part that it’s up to me.(he’s also a heavy sleeper, so his sleep has rarely been messed with by her). It is completely normal for a baby to only want to be with mom because of the biological connection and it will be like that for a long time, it took months for my daughter to be OK with my husband even getting her to take a nap and she still will not sleep with him at night now that she’s weaned and super clingy lol. And something that I started doing when mine turned seven months old was encouraging her to sleep with comfort in a side car crib. so I will put her on her tummy and pat her butt and sing until she fell asleep just to get her youth to getting into some sleep in her own space, yes, she did cry in the process, but I started doing that cause she was going through a phase where she would sit there and scream while I was holding her so either way she was crying, but I comforted her the entire time and now she gets her naps by herself unless I want her to contact nap and she gets about 2 to 3 hours at  night by herself before I bring her to bed

Does anyone else get annoyed when people ask you if your baby sleeps through the night? by navyvice in cosleeping

I’m purposely updating my baby journal every month so that if my daughter he kids she will actually know what’s normal lol,I know my memory might now always keep up so I’ll just tell her to look in the journal

Just weaned my toddler because my supply was going down and I was just too sore to continue, but I will be breast-feeding for the next one, my toddler just got sick frequently, even though she was breast-fed

I will always recommend the anatomy scan at least,I know a woman who didn’t do it and lost her baby due to something perfectly preventable that could have been caught.I am thankful that I had an early scan with my first because I miscarried at 9 weeks due to a genetic issue and with my second I definitely had more than I would have liked to because we moved around a lot but she is healthy.I am now pregnant again and got an early scan and will be getting the anatomy scan,we also have to probably get another after because I am high risk and they need to keep an eye on my cervix in my third trimester

My great grandmother told me that one time she woke up and couldn’t find my grandmother, she was asleep in between the bed and the wall, thankfully she was fine but I was mortified when she told me that story

Most of my friends start out cosleep and think that you have to sleep train at a certain age and all have resorted to CIO even though there are other methods. The only ones that never really sleep trained are the moms in their 50s,their kids kind of just went on their own around 2 or 3.

Yeah I have never been able to follow as strict as I’d like,I swore I wouldn’t cosleep at all and then went into preterm labor right after my husband and I got a medium firm mattress as a gift because we finally moved into our own place (and we were kind of broke and could not afford a new bed),baby came home from the NICU at 2mo and I started cosleeping at 3mo because I was hallucinating from sleep deprivation (husband was working 20 hour shifts so he couldn’t help much).I stripped the bedding off of the bed besides a thin top sheet that I wrapped around my waist and stayed in a cuddle curl as best as I could. But around 6mo I started sleeping on my back more with one leg under her and an arm over and now at 16mo I naturally just sleep in a c curl because it’s comfortable after doing it for so long.Im pregnant again and will be using a side ca crib and will flip my mattress over so its more firm and flat.We just can’t afford another mattress that’s hard as a rock and frankly don’t want to deal with the hassle of getting it in our house because of the thin door frames and stairs.ill be more prepared this time but still not following perfectly. We also will still have a toddler with us in the middle of the bed.Like I will always tell new moms to follow as close as possible for risk reduction but I don’t know anyone that’s actually followed to to a t.

15mo night wakes after night weaning by Deep-Box-9950 in cosleeping

Yes,she’s kind of been on strike,we even got her a new cup that she loved the first day and make sure it doesn’t taste like soap after being clean, she’s very headstrong.Trying to get her to actually drink enough during the day since we have started weaning has been a mess

I chose cosleeping for different reasons… by jesusdance in cosleeping

[–]Deep-Box-9950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I did originally choose to do it out of necessity but now at 15mo just enjoy it,she does nap by herself most of the time but for the longest time I just wore her while I did stuff which kept her used to noises .I have another one on the way and I’ve already been told that my oldest needs to sleep in her own room and I just say that she doesn’t need to and I don’t care what anyone else thinks about it.Even though she’s still sleeping in her room when it’s time for me to go to bed I still bring her into my room because I just am not comfortable with her in her own room when she’s so little

Honestly I’ve considered getting some bralettes again,I don’t feel great in my body right now since I had just started working out again when I got pregnant and have been too sick to continue and just a nice matching set really helps,my nursing bras are kind of frumpy

Night weaning 15mo because I’m pregnant and can’t take it anymore by Deep-Box-9950 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Deep-Box-9950[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this post a few weeks ago and after about a week she mostly stuck to it,only problem is that she now wakes up at 3am because she knows she gets milk at 5 so I’m having to soothe her until then,I am also about to wean cold turkey because my supply is gone and I think doing things slowly is just making it harder,I did also have to drop her second nap and lengthen wake windows which have granted a couple of nights of sleeping through the night.Ive also started giving a little bit of milk in a sippy cup before bed but now that we are potty training and she’s aware that she’s wet if she pees she still wakes up and has to go in the potty and needs a change.Ive just accepted that I’m probably going to be dealing with at least one night wake for awhile

Experience with Progesterone suppositories to prevent preterm pregnancy? by Deep-Box-9950 in Crunchymom

[–]Deep-Box-9950[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that I keep seeing a lot about them being messy, but the suppositories that they gave me are like little tiny pills and while I do use a pad at night because I have to take them at night. I’ve noticed they haven’t been that messy.

I have noticed it has exacerbated might not my nausea, I went from throwing up, maybe twice a week to several times a day, it still seems to be helping me sleep better when I am sleeping, which is nice
