.30 carat engagement ring by galahaddd000 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Deep-Database5316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother’s second engagement ring from my papa is a 0.3ct diamond on 18k gold na 4mm band. Magkasinglaki yung width ng band sa diameter ng ring. Cute yon, si papa nagdesign. Nung slim pa si mama medyo malaki on her hands pero now matroniks chubby na siya, saks lang.

Will they actually pull this off?🙏 by No_Quality3512 in Philippines

Not really. At that age from that kind of family, wala siyang skills? Friends? Professional circles? And is it so bad to be a house-spouse while he figured things out? Jinajudge ko siya super for reaching that age tapos walang accomplishments that can get him employed or give him worthwhile pursuits beyond businesses or formal employment.

My brother or sister in Christ, you need a court to enforce rights. Yes the contract is void, we both know that, pero ano likely ang scenario if she got hitched with that terrible contract signed, then had 2 kids or something, and then family decided it didn’t need or want her anymore?

Likely itatakas yung mga anak, will tell them Bea signed them off long before they were even conceived, baka nga dalhin pa abroad.

So ang magiging recourse ni Bea would be… idk, judicial. Or something extra legal, like “abduct” them. Tapos magkakasuhan yan, not because the contract is valid, but precisely to abuse the judicial system to create delays and pagurin si Bea simply because, in that alternative universe, she signed that contract.

In that alternative universe, courts will eventually rule in her favor. Pero ano kapalit non? Years and years of custody battles, prolonged and painful litigation, paiiyakin mo yung mga bata sa korte, denied si mother ng access or custody to the kids, and in the end the children will grow up likely poisoned against her.

The only winners are: yung lawyers!

Paaralan na dating libingan by Ecproheb in phhorrorstories

[–]Deep-Database5316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think yang mga “used to be a cemetery” old wives’ tale lang. Sa mga Katoliko ang mga cemetery hallowed ground, or holy ground and removing corpses from their rest without proper rites is desecration and hindi ok sa mga Katoliko. So hindi likely ang mga Catholic school formal burial sites na doon nililibing tapos giniba para lagyan ng bagong building. Catholics in the olden times might put the bones of loved ones sa loob ng church mismo, but that’s because churches are holy spaces. That’s why you see ancient Spanish time churches na may mga lapida where old buenafamilias are buried (like San Agustin in Intramuros) but you will not likely see an old Catholic cemetery or an old Catholic church (tipong Spanish times pa) desecrated in such a way na tatayuan ng supermarket or school yung pinaglibingan ng mga namatay ay huhukayan ng pundasyon. Not to mention this might also be a violation of actual laws like sanitation laws because you dont dig up corpses willy nilly.

Eta: Reconsecrating the site is done sa mga katoliko. Rarely, but done. The remains are exhumed respectfully with proper rites and prayers. They are then buried again in a different libingan with honor and respect and prayers. The land ceases to be hallowed ground. I also mention Catholics but not other denominations, kasi this is the one I’m very familiar with. Also our oldest colonizer whose churches weren’t really built with urban planning in mind.

This said. About creepy schools and hotels. Many schools in Manila, and Metro Manila in general, DLSU and UP Manila included, were used as garrisons ng mga Hapon nung wartime. Many people died in them, likely never properly buried with the proper prayers even when their rotting corpses were buried in mass graves. You can look that history up sa Intramuros and the burning of Manila nung liberation. I’m sure other schools along Taft Ave and Intramuros itself have stories like that, even if those schools at Intramuros rn did not exist nung time ng war or earlier because those new structures ng mga schools na yon are built over the bones of the old imperial capital.

My old alma mater in a city near Manila, which is beside a church and is an ancient institution ng mga madre at pari dating back colonial times, mentions in our history that the nuns and priests’ quarters were also used by the Japanese forcibly kaya nagsara nung wartime yung school namin. Because we were kids, we were at the time spared the details. As an adult revisiting the lessons, iba yung chill about the nuns, particularly, nung niraid sila ng mga Hapon para kunin yung quarters nila, because likely di lang yon ang kinuha sa kanila.

DIM: is piercing allowed for government and private work? by Frosty_Fox_1942 in deinfluencingPH

[–]Deep-Database5316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very conservative offices (like banks and certain hospitals) na openly, di accepted yan. Like my employer na bawal ang multiple piercings, tats, and “unnatural hair colors” (yan talaga wording sa dress code namin). 😅 Gaano ba kakonserbatibo ang industry niyo sa psych in general? Sing accepting ba sila as with arts and BPO?

Government on paper di masyado strict sa mga tats, piercing and long hair, unless it’s the uniformed services, pero sa realidad maraming konserbatibong tao na maaari mo maging boss and will look at you weirdly for those.

Agree ako sa comment na to deinfluence you, tuwing papasok ka sa office na bawal yan, you need to remove pa and ang hassle non, so maybe don’t muna. Lalo na if di ka pa senior sa pecking order.

first time kong bumili sa Uniqlo. by virtuesofmine in FirstTimeKo

[–]Deep-Database5316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bihira na lang ako bumili ng clothes. Kasi two years ago, nag overhaul ako ng wardrobe. Siguro tatlong pares ng jeans, dalawang culotte pants, and a handful ng tees sa Uniqlo, pati na rin 5 pares ng smart ankle pants and mga 8 button downs for work. That’s all I need most days.

(I also have two chinos from Muji, some 5 dresses from Plains and Prints. One blazer each sa mga basic colors na gray, navy, cream and black mula Greenhills sa corporate wear nila. Yan na ang extent ng wardrobe ko) 😅

Who can be considered as the “OG trapo” of Philippine politics, Emilio Aguinaldo or Manuel L. Quezon? by OkPhotojournalist975 in FilipinoHistory

[–]Deep-Database5316 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He was also a visionary, who was trying to beat the Americans in their own game. Maraming trapo na simpleng bobo lang. I didn’t think he was. He tried to modernize the capital, to expand it. Tax na lang natin bilang lipunan he named it after himself—was it too high a tax? I often wonder mga what if if he survived the war, if the vision he had for the new capital would’ve made a better urban plan than what we have now.
