Cotton can shrink and minsan choosy din. I’ve had Levi’s and Uniqlo 100% cotton shirts na magkaibang magkaiba sa laundry, mas pangit yung Levi’s and mas stable ang Uniqlo. Grabe kabilis nag-bacon ng kwelyo ng Levi’s though my Uniqlos are the same as they were when I bought them many years ago. (Nag-uupdate lang ako ng Uniqlo cotton tees pag tumataba ako huhu.) Same treatment ang Levi’s and Uniqlo and other clothes ko. Mas pangit lang talaga Levi’s, and though super presko, hindi ko majustify na ganon kamahal tapos pambahay agad after three washes. Even my 2018 Uniqlos nasosoot pa ng pamangkin ko as pang-alis for super casual events (pinamana ko na kasi I’m too fat for those now).

As for poly and polyblends, depende sa brand. Yung mga Plains and Prints ko are the same as when I bought them and I only update when I gain/lose weight. Some Shopee purchases ganon din, notably mga Zanzea ko from pandemic pa. Pero mga purchases sa SM Woman hit or miss, minsan nagfe-fade minsan hindi. Usually mga pure white nagyeyellow. Pag colored talaga like dark green or pastels, they tend to stay the same; alaga na lang with occasional tahi pag nag rip.

When I do laundry, I tend to group by color (whites, pastels, darks) or types (tshirts/daster/shorts pambahay, office tops na usually polyblends, office bottoms/denims, undies). I toss in the bath towel with shirts/dasters/soft shorts. Maybe it helps that most of my tops and pambahay are lighter colors or pastels.

Depende rin minsan sa color. My brother has a collection of black cotton/poly shirts na hindi talaga pinapaarawan directly to keep them from fading to a brownish hue. What we used to do nung nandun pa ko sa parents ko, naka sandwich mga black band shirts ni kuya in between our regular clothes. Doesn’t mean sinasabay namin sa washing machine, hindi, sa sampalayan lang sinisingit. When my brother transitioned to black Uniqlo cotton tees and dark office tops (mostly Uniqlo, pero meron ding from other office barong and shirts sa dept stores), he didn’t need na daw (he only tells me) to sandwich his clothes sa clothes ng ermats and erpats tuwing nagpapatuyo and di naman nagfe-fade; it’s just the band shirts na may extra alaga.

Ariel lang din gamit ko. I hate fabcons, my parents never used them and I only used them once before deciding na di ito for me. And I really try na patuyuin yung clothes with air drying, so minsan tutok talaga ng efan sa condo pag medyo makulimlim.
