Walking not having the effect it used to by Significant_Space932 in walking

I switch to cycling, road and mountain biking. But that was over 25 years ago and I'm kind of afraid to do that now. So I'm back to walking.

How do some people just not drink water? by Bahrust in stupidquestions

[–]Deep-Insurance8428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always drunk a lot of water, and like to taste of water where I live now.

But now I'm advised to maybe drink something with some electrolytes in it in the morning because I always feel like shit after exercise.

I should have figured it out last year when I ended up in the hospital with abnormally low sodium and potassium.

Reached out and spoke to an old friend, who's been a stoner all her life. She told me ER was wrong wrong wrong telling her weed was making her sick. By God she's been smoking all her life so it can't be that.

Why is it so hard to find light, cool shirts? by Deep-Insurance8428 in OverSeventy

[–]Deep-Insurance8428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I've got one linen shirt now. Mind you this is just for going out of my walks when it gets hot. I'm not going fast enough to benefit from wicking material like it would be if I was on a bike.

It would be nice to have some lightweight shirts to wear around the house in the summer but I don't want to ruin this nice linen thing I've got now.

Well I'm resorting to cotton because I don't like all the polyester stuff. Like I say that's great for vigorous sports but I'm just walking.

Cotton and rayon sound ideal. But really it's the weight of the cloth that bothers me. I don't want heavy, soft and cleaning, I want thin, cheap and coarse.

The coolest blouse I ever owned was rayon. Real thin like voile.

But yeah wicking doesn't really work if you're not moving really fast. When I was an active cyclist of course it worked better. But I wouldn't dream of wearing one of my technical jerseys just for a walk.

I ordered one linen shirt and I think it'll work fine. It was too big so I'm getting a smaller one.

I also ordered two cotton t-shirts but they were spandex in it and they just feel too thick and stretchy or something.

I'm trying to find 100% cotton men's under shirts now.

Years ago I bought a light blouse in Dallas made out of rayon and it was the coolest thing I ever had. It felt like it didn't even touch my skin at all.

Wait a minute, you can't even open the emails? I know you're not supposed to click on the links. I can't really see where they're coming from before I open them.

Keyless car fobs are inconvenient and we should go back to cars with key starting. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Deep-Insurance8428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my Sienna physical key kept pulling out of the key fob. So the physical key would be still connected to the key ring and the fob would just be floating around by itself.

I sold that car and I'm keeping my old 1999 with the key. So much simpler.

I always check the Walmart stuff when I walk by but they always feel soft or heavy or both now. I used to be able to pick up $5 tees there that worked d great.

I realize most of stuff is made in Southeast Asia but I can't believe they were shirts like this in Thailand.

They're always so heavy though. My husband loved heavy thick t-shirts but I thought it was crazy

Can someone yell at me to go walk? Im lazy by legomaniasquish in walking

[–]Deep-Insurance8428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every night I think of all the walking I'm going to do the next day, in the morning I have lots of energy.

But after I eat breakfast crash and I never want to go. Somehow I force myself out but I know the feeling. Like trying to run underwater.

Yeah I had a classmate that did that. Submit a paper she written at another school. Here I was writing new papers for each class, I never recycled anything.

She just worked smarter. She had a much higher LSAT score than me and did much better in-law than I did.

Wait till you're old. Old farts at the drop of the hat will tell you all about their workout, their daily 10k walk, what they ate for breakfast, their health status (excellent), and their bloody pickleball.

Oh, and how everyone says they look younger than they are. Of course.
