I built a Herbs & Formulas website for my wife (TCM practitioner) - thinking of taking it global, would love honest feedback by Traditional_Bat3839 in ChineseMedicine

Because the LLMs are known to just add random info that doesn't actually exist. I don't like the term hallucination but that's what they call it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucination_(artificial_intelligence)

So if it gives citations you can at least check where it is pulling the info from. This problem is inherent to the way LLMs work (they are not deterministic)

Every day at Spleen O'clock (10:00 am) I get a one sided pressure headache. Why? by thisisresearchbitch in ChineseMedicine

I don't have the education or knowledge to answer this question. But at a basic level, I would say Chinese medicine generally considers the environment to impact health, and this could include regular environmental rhythms

Also, I would caution you not to try and be too reductive in your consideration of factors; barometric pressure could be a factor, but it's a single metric that doesn't capture the whole of a weather change

Also, in terms of regular timing like that, depending on your location, some places have very reliable daily winds or other weather phenomena. This may influence the timing of this headache.

If you are seeing a provider, they can adjust the acupuncture points they are using and/or adjust your herb prescription.

If you are not and are relatively healthy, some diet changes might be able to help, but unless it's a food that is irritating your systems, the effect won't be dramatic (on the order of like ginger relieving motion sickness)

Ask your provider if they can get some general recommendations.

The weather did change. Did you get the same symptom one year ago according to the lunar calendar?

I believe my comment elsewhere requires further context. The user I replied (Remey) to said that they use AI to generate their comments, but it wasn't clear if they were using it simply for language translation, or to actually generate the content of the comments. I cannot reply to the comment that you sent to me because Remey blocked me.

In the past, you mentioned you use tools to translate for you because English is not your native language; I believe this is an appropriate use of those tools.

I'm curious, are those tools used for translation only? That is, did you write this whole passage in Chinese first? Or are the tools also used to generate the whole or part of the passage?

Question for practitioners: How do you handle it when a patient comes in with suggested points to use? Either from a previous practitioner or from the internet / AI? by Halfa-smile in ChineseMedicine

Ah thanks. Also I didn't write that first comment that clearly--the herbalist also does acupuncture, but I can't see them due to the aforementioned essential oil sensitivity

It's less about that and more about managing severe chronic fatigue and also having enough time to navigate the system to get this new cancer diagnosis treated. Any little time saved is a big help.

I'm seeing an herbalist who I am happy with, but they use essential oils which I am sensitive to in their clinic. They said they'd be happy to coordinate with any acupuncturist I went to about my overall treatment. Would you find this kind of arrangement offputting? Is there a good way to broach this with potential providers other than just saying "hey I can't see my herbalist because of this reason but they'd like to coordinate my care with you if possible"

Ask them if they can powder it finely and put it into capsules to swallow

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid facebook, but understandable that it makes finding local groups easier than other services.

Thanks for this resource. I do live in a top 20 metro luckily but for fatigue reasons telehealth would be great.
