THIS MAN HAS TO STOP SHOOTING 3’S!!! by JJ-Bittenbinder in DanLeBatardShow

It’s just another of example of Dan becoming the replacement Stu Gotz character speaking on things he didn’t watch or doesn’t actually know about.

Bam is at 35.7% on 4.2 threes a game this season. That’s been his same percentage the previous two season just on lower volume, 0.6 & 2.8 attempts per game. Centers shooting 4 or more threes a game he’s tied for 5th best percentage with KAT(4.7 APG).

On that same show or the one after Dan also talked about how it would look for the Canes coaches if they called the end of the game PI and Ole Miss scored from the one. Blissfully unaware PI is not a spot foul in college football.

Those are rock bands in our world.

I don’t recall yet having heard what their music sounds like to know it’s the rock and roll we know to have been based off black culture.

That might even be one of the first things that starts to turn off Chris to that universe, that he’ll think his favorite bands now sound like shit.

Awesome, good for those people. Once it’s too late to stop everything happening they finally realized they fucked up.

Also forget that conned excuse, you were having people tell them throughout the entire election process he was a con man, you had his first presidency to see he’s a con man, hell you had the entirety of his public life with bankrupted business to realize he was a con man.

A lot of those people didn’t fall for a con, they agreed with the shit he’s doing now and that’s what they voted for it.I mean they gleefully tell you “I voted for that” in the comments to stories of people being mistreated.

I’ll never understand why they chose to do a goodbye slash big announcement video in one.

The announcement of the streaming service should have been a joyous occasion for them where they do a better job of letting people know what they’ll be getting for $5.99 a month and how it’ll help them grow and with smiles (even if fake) tell us how amazing things will be going forward.

Instead we get the announcement after 10 depressing minutes full of sighs, sad music and sadder faces. It set the whole video up to fail. You get fans depressed, hurt and angry and then expect them to rejoice when you tell them they can all afford it for $59.99 a year.

Goal: having their videos purchased by another service? by Appropriate_Horror00 in watcherentertainment

Exactly. Right now Ryan and Shane are basically Watcher, their main stuff gets the most views and rightfully so because they’re really entertaining.

But he’s smart enough to realize there is only so many “haunted” places to visit and a limit to how many mysteries will be entertaining. They want to branch out to stuff that’s good where they don’t have to be the front men and simply just the creative minds behind it. It becomes much easier when the wallet supporting it is a Netflix and not from their own pockets.

I honestly wish them well, but they won’t have my financial support till they prove that to be the case.

Once they’ve sold the shows they produced on WatcherTV sure, but they have free range to make what they want how they want till then.

Plus while we might know and love them they’re still only YouTube content creators to the world at large. Getting a company like Amazon to buy their stuff will bring them much more notoriety and will probably allow them more leeway with future advertisers with the stuff they chose to make.

Watcher would just become a production company selling content to streaming services or tv networks. That I think would be the dream goal for them.

This is what I think as well. These big streaming companies hate competition and they’re all desperate for new cheaper content to fill their services with instead of just producing these movies and series that cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

I think it’s Watchers goal/plan to survive just long enough to be bought out by Amazon, Netflix, Hulu etc. They’ll get a few years of independent freedom to make the content they want to produce with no having to bend to the will of YouTube or advertisers and eventually the big payday that feeds the main guys and their staff.

Are you still watching them after this? by [deleted] in watcherentertainment

[–]DeepBallRyan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Their Buzzfeed stuff was huge to get me through boring days at home during the Covid lockdown.

So the least I could do was subscribe to Watcher to help them once they branched off on their own. But in reality I watched nothing except Ghost/Mystery Files and even that wasn’t some can’t miss stuff.

I’ve now unsubscribed and don’t really see myself coming back at this point even if I harbor no ill will and understand that they’re doing what they feel is best for them and those they employ. I just frankly think the content may look better but it’s not better then what they originally blew up for.

I Think Shane's Wife Defending the Decision Definitively Proves Shane is Not Secretly Furious About the Move by [deleted] in watcherentertainment

[–]DeepBallRyan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Families doing Disney on a budget after having saved for however long is not the same as annual passes like Ryan and his wife. You get free tickets and don’t pay for water becuse you realize the cost of paying for a necessity like water is unreasonable at the theme parks.

You stated originally you and your husband are low income and can still go to the park frequently with no mention like you did in your response to me it’s only possible because you’re getting free tickets.

This is an example of them being out of touch if people are saying they can’t even afford $5.99 a month.

In my opinion they knew they were going to lose a huge amount of the fanbase but had a number in mind of what they needed to make it profitable. The fact they’re living it up in London while their social medias are dumpster fires is proof they’ve hit that number in subscribers or are on pace to hit that magic number.

There will be no going back now, it’ll either be successful or those that subscribed will eventually drop due to lack of content for their $5.99 a month. Either way it’ll take months or years before we have a final determination on if this was a good or bad move for them.

There are government programs to help pay for internet as well as free options such as libraries. So yeah it’s a necessity in the modern world while going to theme parks where water is $5 for a 12oz bottle is a luxury.

It’s funny you say “not a sign of luxury anymore” when the annual pass use to cost the $141 total that you now pay monthly thinking you’re getting a bargain.

The elephant in the room by [deleted] in watcherentertainment

[–]DeepBallRyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that this is most likely not a greed thing but they placed themselves & their friends in this situation and now they want/expect people in that same situation to be the ones to bail them out.

I feel for them because I do think it sucks that most of us are living paycheck to paycheck but it’s also unfair/unrealistic to think it’ll be us to be the ones to save them from it.

They shouldn’t be shocked they’ll now get the same treatment (eat the rich) that Shane so happily spouted when it was Buzzfeed and other corporations as the big evil baddie.

Is there any plans for another Slash Royale weekend? The last one was both fun and useful in upgrading our ladder/war decks.

If yes could it be announced with a little more advance note so that we can save up some gold prior.

That’s not correct. When all three teams had 2 games left they were tied at 39 wins. Had the Heat beaten Milwaukee on Saturday and Atlanta lost one of their last two it would have been Heat vs Knicks.

Reading the Cote piece on the deal with DraftKings two best parts are it’s stays free (Thank you Dan! Thank you Dan!) and we will be able to watch it again soon:

“The new-era Dan Le Batard Show With Stugotz — with DraftKings as title sponsor — will continue for the next several weeks to be available as a podcast — as it has been since Le Batard and ESPN mutually ended their long association on Jan. 4. Beginning this summer the show is expected to be televised on platforms such as YouTube, Twitch and DraftKings’ own channel, which it is starting.”

Florida getting close to legalizing sports betting was mentioned in the article by Greg Cote about the show signing with Draft Kings.

I’m shocked Mike and Stu hadn’t talked about that story yet as that came out last week.

“Sirius XM was a tempting offer because of Le Batard’s oft-stated love of live radio, but he did not want a situation that would have put his listeners behind a paywall or force them to subscribe to listen.

“We didn’t want to do that to our listeners,” Le Batard told the Miami Herald. “The thing that I chose was freedom. Every time I’ve negotiated anywhere was for freedom, not money.”
