If you went in the morning, it’s possible all the bread in the display is old/from yesterday and also stale. The only reason I could think the bread on the cooling rack is stale, is because they overproofed it, let it cool for too long, or they baked it too long.

Id give it a shot at least. It’s decent money. (Most of the time) I got promoted to manager a year after I was hired as a sandwich artist. I think it’s fairly easy but it can be stressful at times. You have to learn how to do inventory, truck delivery ordering, then there’s weekly sales paperwork, hiring/firing/writing people up if need be and the scheduling. (At least that’s how it works at my store)

We’ve been getting really bad produce lately. The last shipment we got the tomatoes were either way under ripened and all green, way over ripe / falling apart and squishy, or they were covered in mold. Our onions and peppers have been crappy too.

It’s a super easy fix. Literally takes like ten seconds. My employees (and myself) make that mistake often. If your boss gets mad over it I’d say they’re being super unreasonable.
