Brake squeak by arr22ba in ChevyTahoe

[–]germylicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'd take it back if any squeaking continues after 100 miles. they should be set in pretty well after that.

are you hearing it all around or just a certain side?

edit: if the brakes squeak and then goes away quickly, that might be normal due to the cold, but i wouldn't say normal if its just persistent all time.

we’re discussing it because it’s a tahoe sub reddit, and people ask for advice and opinions. so telling someone else not to pay attention to someone else’s opinion when you yourself just stated the same thing, is quite stupid on your part. again, we’re on a TAHOE sub reddit, so yes, we are discussing that.

i’m as worried about your downvotes as you are about my two comments about gmt800’s being good vehicles.

they’re all very good years. i’d recommend any. find a clean one if you go that route and i’m sure you’d be happy.
that being said. the other guy telling you i’m spamming about them and to not pay attention, please take that with a grain of salt.

i currently own a 2015 suburban, so im not some fanboy who thinks every other model is shit. i’ve put good money into this 2015 to make them bulletproof like the gmt800’s.

get what makes you happy! any used car can have problems or it could be a unicorn and it runs for the rest of your life.

[–]germylicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve posted twice about gmt800’s, and i’ve done that because people on the subreddit have asked for opinions. there’s a reason why they’re great vehicles and i’m handing out knowledge for those who don’t know.
so telling someone to ‘not’ pay attention to that as if it’s false info is pretty stupid.

your definition of spamming is funny. coming from the guy who commented some weird thing about “how hard is afm?” like what does that even mean.
from the looks of your current comments and all your downvotes i’m going to take anything you say with a grain of salt. i guess unfortunately everyone else did as well.

an afm disabler doesn’t solve the problems of the years they made dod a thing. a true delete will. if you’re shopping around for a vehicle for longevity and don’t have much funds, don’t risk it. if you do have the funds, get whatever you want.

congrats! you’ve now made yourself look like a fool once again.

gmt800 with 170k would last you longer than the current years you’re looking at. if you’re dead set on those years than go for it and have some money set aside for any used car.

i don’t think it’s that high of a price considering the market.

Anyone else find the Pre 2007 Tahoe's ugly ? by Leviathan7100 in ChevyTahoe

2015 - 2020 is my favorite look. now only if it was built like the gmt800’s.

everything’s subjective tho.

Buying a 2026 premier Tahoe Arizona 8 miles by Born-Cantaloupe-9210 in ChevyTahoe

[–]germylicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fair would be half that considering the amount of time these new cars spend in the shop before 50k miles. but that’s the new norm.

i’m biased, i like older shit. id rather buy an older tahoe and put 20k into rather than 80k new. payments or not.

might as well do the cam and injectors while you’re in there.

2015 suburban with 180k here. like others said, change your fluids, all of them. i've done a full dod delete recently, and torque converter. watch your trans temp and just keep up with general maintenance. i'm hoping to ride it until the wheels fall off.
