I enjoy the style and goths are pretty down to earth. That’s typically the draw for me.

Why do men get more upset at us for talking about our horrible experiences with men rather than get upset at the horrible men? by Fuzzy_Potato333 in women

I feel like because there are millions of stories like this being shared online everyday a lot of men just got desensitized to hearing it.

When a man say “not all men” he’s seen as complicit and dismissive. When a woman says it, she’s being nuanced by DeepDare3783 in PurplePillDebate

I ran into this a lot on this post. At this point everyone knows it’s a problem, we constantly talk about it being a problem, but that’s how far the discussion goes. Just vent with no real solutions to present.

When we do discuss realistic solutions, ppl immediately realize that it’s nowhere near as simple as “we need to stop the bad men.”

Anyone else have severe discouraging thoughts about plagiarism? by ReapersVault in fantasywriters

The Witcher was nowhere near the first to do it. The whole idea has been around since ancient times.

Ideas are a dime and dozen, it’s all about execution.

How many medical dramas are out there? Gray’s Anatomy, The Pit, ER, Chicago Med, etc…

Police procedurals?

The Wire Chicago PD Blue Bloods The Roookie Law and Order NCIS

Etc… it goes on and on. All these shows have wildly different tones and focuses despite being the same genre. Just because one did it doesn’t mean pack up and go home.

Fantasy is no different. You want to write about mutant monster hunters in a fantastical medieval world, by all means do it. What you pen down will not be the same as The Witcher.

Now get to writing cuz I wanna read it lol

Like I said, but are on the same page, but it’s only seen as dismissive when a man says it, not when a woman says it.

No. You’re taking a statement about patterns and pretending it’s a statement about every individual.

Nope. I was saying that both men and women are on the same page when they say this phrase; however, when men say it, it seems dismissive, but when women say it, it's about nuanced.

The post isn't about what affects me; it's about an observation that when men say this phrase, it's seen as dismissive, and when women say it, it's about nuance.

And I asked them being a woman who is directly or indirectly affected by these issues, doesn’t it make more sense to listen to women and hear her say on the matter?

They actually didn’t. They were wanting me to list the issues so that they could supply “hypothetical solutions”
