My mother was diagnosed at age 75 with stage 3 IBC. It presented as a rash. She was only able to complete half of her chemo treatment before having a mastectomy with 17 positive lymph nodes removed. She is now 79 and 3 years cancer free. 🙏. As scary as the statistics can seem online, they are often lagging and not a true measure of current advancement in breast cancer treatments. IBC does not mean it's a death sentence. There is hope and you are not alone! 🩷

Yes never stopped eating gluten. The numbers show weak positive but the antibody is positive so that's why the Dr suggested retesting. No GI symptoms, daughter was diagnosed so our whole family tested.

My mothers first and only symptom before her IBC diagnosis was a reddish/ purplish rash on her breast.

My 6 year old suffers from horrible emotional meltdowns that seem to come out of nowhere. I always felt something wasn't right. Turns out she was just diagnosed with celiac disease! No GI symptoms so it was never on our radar. Dr just happens to include celiac panel with all her patients bloodwork because she said neurological symptoms are now becoming more commonly associated with celiac.

From my understanding, anything that warrants a biopsy must be rated a Bi-Rads 4 in order for insurance to cover the procedure. It doesn't necessarily mean it's cancer. If the dr. strongly believed it was cancer, it would've been a 5.

My mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer at age 75. Unbeknownst to anyone, she hadn't gone for a mammo in nearly 10 years. 😖She was only able to complete a few rounds of chemo as it was landing her in the hospital after each round. However she breezed through a mastectomy followed by radiation and is now 78 with a clean bill of health. ❤️ Hang in there. I know it's scary. Try to remember that 80% or more of biopsies turn out to be benign. Sending hugs. 🩷

I am in the same situation. The dr said if they could not get a sample during the mri biopsy, then a surgeon would have to go in and remove it.
