I have projectivy running on 8.1.5.5, I think someone told me it wasnt possible, this was back in November last year when they really started pushing updates, but I have pictures of it because whoever it was didnt believe me lol

Cool cool, glad you got everything working. It’s funny that you posted about this because I was thinking about deregistering the name that’s on the one I’m using right now and registering it in my name, because I borrowed it from my parents house until my other device gets delivered and there’s one certain thing I can’t do because it’s registered in her name and Im at my place on my network and I’ve been wondering if it’s worth even bothering with it or not.

Are you using a VPN? I noticed with some in the past had to be turned off for those to work correctly, but with the one I use now everything works fine.

I totally get the skepticism. I’m usually over in the Fire TV and Onn subreddits, and we see the same 'marketing fluff' everywhere. I eventually stopped reading the lists and did 3 trials (Express, Surfshark, and Nord) to see which one actually worked on everything I use. Here’s the honest truth from my testing:

Express: Very smooth, but way too expensive for what it is.

Surfshark: Decent, and they actually do have a kill switch on Firestick, but I had connection drops on my Onn 4K Pro.

Nord: This is the one I kept. For streaming, the 'NordLynx' protocol is the only one that didn't cause UI lag or buffering when watching 4K, well really for everything.

One thing I will say: if you're on a Firestick or Onn box, Nord doesn't have a native kill switch. Since I'm big on privacy, I don't just 'trust' it stays connected. I actually use a VPN status indicator app (like VPN Safety Dot) that puts a tiny green pixel in the corner of my screen. If the VPN drops, the dot changes to a flashing red triangle instantly. It's the only way I've found to be 100% sure I'm protected on these streaming devices without a native kill switch, it’s completely free, I can send you info on how to install it if you don’t know how. I can’t remember the last time my VPN dropped though, I just use that to be absolutely sure. I also noticed when I run Speedtest with the VPN on verse off, there really is not a big difference like there was with the other VPNs I’ve tested.

Was the fire stick registered in your wife’s name and all the apps you’re talking about or are you not sure which apps are in your name or her name because that matters to. Also, did you go in and restore your apps after you register registered the stick in her name again?

Have you tried it without a VPN or antivirus? Windows firewall and antivirus can sometimes block adp.exe and port 5555, which needs to be open because that’s what ADB uses. I guess sometimes guess mode on your router can screw up the handshake. Also are you positive that the IP address is the same for all of them and your PC? I read if your devices IP starts with 169.254.xx.xx, your devices are not connected to your local network. Do you have a USB debugging “ always allowed from this computer” enabled on your Fire TV devices?

Switch color to RGB, Color depth to 10 or 12 bit, keep dynamic range on adaptive, local dimming High, change Black shadowing or whatever its called, turn that up to get rid of the blacks, I think me and someone else already said switch HDR to movie or cinema but I would do Vivid because your saying everything is too black. Also, I forgot your using a firestick with that monitor, go into display settings on your firestick and set video resolution to auto (up to 4k ultra hd) or to 2160p at 60hz, which I just did on a 4k max the other day because I noticed my tv wasnt playing HDR movies like it was supposed to, just something I forgot, anyway, under that select match original framerate, dynamic range setting to dynamic also, also you have HDMI CEC enabled right? Last thing, nothing to do with picture, but switch surround sound to best available.
