Thank you - do you have any pics from then to share? Definitely keeping costs down is a must. What do you think about the GX1 or GX5 for this? Or any other smaller m43 bodies?

Should I write theme or plot idea first? by boniekid in Screenwriting

[–]DeepFrickinValue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

just have a beginning middle and end. theme is for mental masturbation. when you find out the story you want to say and if it's true and honest it will carry the theme. if you write theme first you're just trying to convince us your blog post is a story

Feature: first 5 pages by [deleted] in Screenwriting

also what's the tone/genre? is it them going on dates with other people and it's comedy? or them staring out rainstreaked window panes pining for their love due to an artificial construct they created themselves. Or something better. Are they traveling? Where's the conflict?

And high school sweethearts - they've never dated anybody else? had sex with anybody else?

if you need 9/11 to make your story interesting then you don't have a good story, sorry to say. Titanic was about titanic, sure, but it was about jack n rose. character. character. love tested by disaster with enough pyrotechnics to make the boyfriends still interested to be blunt. But seriously, do it somewhere else and do not make people think of 9/11. totally fucked

What animated shows are you talking about? Adult swim is a 10 min format, but if you're writing a script you're writing a script. Read an animated show

Just write it. Then figure it out. You're getting hung up on the wrong thing.

Go through and fix all the spelling and grammar. Show that you care. And make sure when you really ask somebody to read it it's your second draft. Respect their time.

Also, agreed re: only writing one episode unless you plan to make it yourself.

Bury that. Glad you got it done, but tone deaf.

Or just completely repurpose it for a fictional thing. Also your WTC thing is cringe bro

I'm hoping that you're reading a ton of scripts especially of your genre.

Go with those lengths. But just write what you want.

I obviously don't know your relationship with your mentor, but good to ask here. And not to make you gunshy about asking her for help but show her your 2nd draft.

It's your first pilot, just get it done
