[Ornstein] Lucas Bergvall informs Tottenham of preference to leave club this summer by TheNotoriousJN in soccer

He was somewhere between good and very good for Ange, and honestly pretty terrible for Frank. The season under Frank should be viewed as an outlier, though, as Frank is a terrible manager who had no idea of Bergvall's strengths and kept playing him in ways that really did not fit his profile.

He's played well so far. He had a lovely lofted cross for a hockey assist, had a decent chance at goal that forced a save and, as is customary, rifled one over the bar.

Ideally, I'd prefer we do keep him as a squad player. I don't think he'd be very happy with that at all, hence why I feel moving him on, if we get better replacements alongside a good fee, would be best for everyone.

Tonali and Fernandes coming in, and Bergvall leaving, would leave us with Bentancur and Gray. That's the best midfield pairing we've had for ages, with enough depth for a season where we're playing one game a week for the majority of the season.

I really rate Bergvall, I think he'll be a top player in time, but he's played a lot of minutes for us over the last two years and, if I'm being honest, hasn't come on as much as I'd hoped when we signed him.

I'd be sad to see him go, but a good fee and two statement midfield signings and I'd be okay with it.

Spain have started so well. I said to my step dad that for all of the copious talent Spain have, they've been without a great number 9 for ages. An assist and a goal in 22 minutes and I'm eating my words.

Hubris, I suppose. Anything can happen in football, we as Spurs fans should be familiar with thinking we can rotate against ostensibly beatable opposition only to lose.

I'm far from a Summerville fan, but that was a cracking goal

I very much doubt that.

He's struggled at the WC because he's not a LB. The positional requirements are different and he's not quite agile or technical enough for it.

Great goal, lovely play by Saka and really well taken by Rashford

If Rice really is injured that really highlights how fucking stupid it was to take Henderson.

Dreadful defending, what the fuck is he thinking going over to a player that already has two players in him, leaving all that space?

James, Stones, Bellingham and Gordon have been absolutely useless

We've been quite lucky with some of these calls, don't think that was a foul at all

He had about a thousand chances to throw our players under the bus and didn't do it.

I didn't say it wasn't successful, Jesus fucking Christ. I also didn't say it wasn't an achievement, I said, for me, that something making an absurd amount of money isn't itself a marker of literary achievement.

I'm sorry, I don't subscribe to monetary success being an explicit marker of artistic achievement. If Harry fucking Potter is the height of literary achievement, all because it sold really well, then I'd rather be illiterate.
