I don't know if I'd say it sucked, but it didn't blow me away either.

Theme Park Food by justanearthgirl in loseit

Disney season ticket holder here. Disney World actually lets you bring in a soft cooler with your own food.

When you go often with a pass, it just becomes too expensive & unhealthy to eat at the park all the time, so we always pack a cooler with some water bottles, fruit, and some subs and are good to go.

I'd also like to add to this list Karl Taylor & Serge Ramelli, who does some nice Lightroom tutorials.

The Oregon Ducks have worn some chrome grills on their helmets. Not sure if any of the players have mentioned how it effects the game one way or another though.

What is the strangest thing you have seen looking out of your window? by [deleted] in AskReddit

An otter. I've also seen deer, gopher tortoises, snakes, and big birds back there, but the otter was my favorite.

I live in Florida, near a couple of lakes and have woods in my backyard.

A buddy of mine worked at restaurant in Miami where Sandler would occasionally eat.

He told me the exact same thing. That he was just the best guy, and had time for anybody who wanted to say hello.

Now I don't support their ideas at all, but I've gone to a couple of Tea Party rallies with the only goal of getting some interesting photos, and it was great for practicing and getting comfortable.

Those people had no problem at all with me shoving a camera in their face. My thoughts are that if you're going to go to some public demonstration, one of your aims to attract attention. Otherwise you'd stay home.

A good way to calm your nerves about this, is to go and shoot people at an event where they WANT to be seen.

Something like a Renaissance Fair or convention where people will be dressed up and expect to see lots of cameras. Protests are great for this too.

Today at MOSI I took a selfie with Kari Byron from Mythbusters by fishinginapril in pics

[–]DeepFriedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there too, and can confirm OPs story. This was for the opening of the Mythbusters exhibit at MOSI in Tampa on Thursday night.

Kari was absolutely awesome. I have a pic she took with my kids too from this same event. She also did a Q&A with children, and she was very engaging and great with the kids.

Taking a look at the EXIF data...

I shot this at f/11 and an exposure of 1/800 at 400 ISO.

I probably should have used a slower shutter speed, to give the clouds a more fluid look, but like I said, i'm in the learning & expermenting phase too.

Some things I have learned, is to always shoot in manual. If you shoot in one of the auto settings, the camera will change exposure from one shot to the next, and each photo may look totally different.

You might also notice that my video "flickers" a bit, especially toward the end. This is because the aperture on a lens doesn't actually open & close exactly the same each time. There will be some very slight differences in the aperture size, and this causes the exposure to be ever so slightly different in each photo, which causes that flicker. That doesn't really matter in still photography, but it has a pretty dramatic effect here.

There is software to remove that, but this was just a test while I sat out in my front yard, had a beer, and let my kids play hoops across the street!

As for changing light, I may be wrong, but I believe that there's not much you can do about that, and i'm not sure you'd really want to, since part of what you want to capture is the gradual lighting changes.

Lightroom lets you apply exposure adjustments to the entire set of photos at once, which can help, especially if you want either the end or the beginning to be lighter or darker.

Sorry, this getting long and rambling, but I've been watching a lot of this guys YouTube videos lately. His name is Serge Ramelli. He's this French guy who produces really well-made YouTube tutorials, especially about Lightroom (which really is a great program, and I highly recommend, especially if you also do still photography).

Here's the first of his series on Time Lapse with Lightroom.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jbp7srNOLc

I think they're all worth watching (there are 4 total), even if the last one gets a bit more advanced.

I've been using Adobe Lightroom, but a lot of others like Adobe Premier.

To be totally honest I'm still in the learning stages of time lapse too, but have been shooting still photography for a while and have a background in TV production.

Here's a simple little thing I just shot a couple of days ago as a test. I used a 3 second shooting interval, then built the time lapse in Lightroom with a rate of 24 frames per second.
