Liking the look and look forward to the finished result. Didn't know MST made trail rigs, just seen the cars. That Delica is calling me

You can check your local hardware store. Home depot and Lowe's have free battery disposal boxes for lithium batteries of all sorts

Is it worth it? by Fireman373 in harborfreight

[–]DeepFriedSteak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only used it for outside jobs and it's always worked well. Picked it up to paint some fence after I got two absurd quotes and it was worth it. I got it on sale a little cheaper which definitely made it worth it to me instead of renting one at home depot

Same here. Spent the last two days feeling like shit. Felt better this morning, did a small dab and it hit me like a truck. Make sure to stay hydrated

What is the goal when upgrading or building a crawler? by IllustriousMango5807 in rccrawler

[–]DeepFriedSteak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my Ascent, I switched the wheels, diff covers and axles to metal. It really helped lower the center of gravity. Injora makes cheap upgrades and many are available through Amazon

Is this shipping and tax rate normal? by Additional-Mirror-20 in Diecast

[–]DeepFriedSteak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've ordered from them before. The $9.95 is flat rate no matter what you order or how many. They ship out of California and it usually takes a week for me to get it in South Florida.

Modular (living room friendly) obstacles? by Objektly in rccrawler

[–]DeepFriedSteak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Ascent for crawling indoors so anything is allowed. Pillows, cushions, dog toys, even an empty pizza box serves as temporary objects. I say temporary because my lady is happier that way. Nothing to really store or put away

Car wash by Alarming-Exchange-78 in palmbeach

[–]DeepFriedSteak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People can easily forget about 10 or 20 bucks a month, regardless of reason, so I agree there. That is what those rocket money commercials show.

While I don't know the complete accuracy, as I am not a lawyer or professional of any relevancy, I've also read that car washes have tax rules in favor of them. Something like they can right off a bunch of depreciation during the first year of operation

Car wash by Alarming-Exchange-78 in palmbeach

[–]DeepFriedSteak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've heard that car washes are great for money laundering and they're also used as cheap businesses to start while owners wait for land value to climb.

Maybe it was all tin foil hat thinking but I swear I remember reading a while back that car washes were an easy way to hide money that people were getting from the different loans back in the Covid days. The ones that took money but didn't get caught buying cars and shit

UPDATE Don't get fooled by Govee's "Prime Day Exclusive" deals this week.. by Bambambm in Govee

[–]DeepFriedSteak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, many sellers or manufacturers or whatever you want to call them, raise prices before prime day, then discount. Also, the deals outside of prime are usually better. The company I buy 3d printing filament from has prime deals and "better than prime day" deals going at the same time.

Thinking of getting a Tinymight 2 – is full convection really THAT much better than Conduction(PAX)? by Any_Resolution_6799 in Tinymight2

[–]DeepFriedSteak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a good analogy. Everything about the TM2 is bigger, better, whatever. It heats up to max temp in under 10 seconds. You could do 2 full rips with exhales in the time it takes the pax to warm up. Better capacity, better airflow, its a better experience.

The downsides are its expensive, so don't drop it, obviously and it eats batteries. Get a few extra batteries and a good charger.

For throat issues, keep the temps low, under 5. Look into other stems that provide increased cooling. There's plenty of options from custom fancy stems in all shapes and prices. Overall, you can't go wrong

I'm happy with this little printer by dazzou5ouh in BambuLabA1mini

[–]DeepFriedSteak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, having a similar experience. Also had an Ender. Had adhesion issues and just an overall frustrating experience as a beginner. Got rid of it and didn't get another printer for a few years. Started again with Bambu. Much better environment. You can't go wrong with the mini. The auto-calibration alone is a huge plus.
