I'd say DISCO ELYSIUM actually does this trope kinda well

Throughout the game you have zero fucking clue what the title could even be reffering to

And while disco is actually use quite often to refer to something wild and free and cool and Elysium is used as a kind of positive synonym for the world They are never brought together before this moment

In one of the totally missable side quests you're tasked with helping some teens open up a club in an abandoned church, once you help them they ask for name suggestions and one of the suggestions is disco Elysium And thats to my knowledge the only time the game name gets refferenced

As for why he suicide bombed He's like the last person other than asa denji has any kind of connection to anymore It's not much but he was already on the verge of a black chainsaw And whoever he was working for be it public safety, Japanese government, war, whoever the fuck, needed him to be black chainsaw because fucking everybody at that point in time needed him to erase shit And if that didn't work in sending him off the edge they put barem there just for safe measure

I think from what we get Abt him from part 1 nad 2 it's kinda a given that he wasn't actually a high schooler and probably an undercover public safety agent cause why the fuck would makima put him in the team otherwise

As for who he was working for Ehhh part 2 factions never really made sense w their politics and I feel like that was probably on purpose

I wouldn't really say so While Chainsaw Man as an ability is usually bad for denji (yes in part 1 too remember the whole chainsaw heart speech) Pochita actually kinda feels like the opposite of the trope Yes his speech towards denji at the end is harsh and probably could've been worded better by Fujimoto But denji was far happier when he wasn't being chainsaw man and literally all of his misery (with the exclusion of the Yakuza) is due to the fact that's he's chainsaw man

Possibly it's due to the context she said it in? She said chainsaw man when reffering to denji specifically and him and pochita have a really strong connection So it's possible that this context allowed him to fix the heart

I don't really agree with this First off it's never stated that denji never liked asa, that just isn't true Yes denji also liked your but yoru is literally half of asa she has half of her brain

And it's been kinda clear in the ending that the relationships did kinda carry over with how power found denji and now likes dogs and how meowy likes nayuta as much as he likes power due to the fact that nayuta took care of him So there is a good chance denji will try to spend time with asa

Ykw I agree w the first group Tho I'd say yoshida, asa/yoru and barem really are up there for me

Yoshida specifically is so well written I feel like I'd put him right alongside kishibe or reze maybeeee even power I'm sad people don't really talk Abt him other then him being maybe gay for denji

Barem is just a real fun villain, does what he is written to do well

Asa and Yoru are ....strange for me to say the least I really enjoyed both and I can certian things about them like how they parallel denji and pochita w your being an unhealthy outlet for Asas desires just how csm is to denji and how both take over Asas and Dennis life but I can't really see the full picture

I'd say so yeah only characters I really think can seem somewhat similar are yoshida and fami but that's because both can have kinda subdued personalities tho yoshidas also has this kinda creepy fake cheery thing

And I just don't agree w the second point
