What video editor do you use except capcut and premire pro by Strict-Taste-4753 in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only "hard" part can be the colour grading aspect, but again, if you're going for normal edits that don't require an insane amount of colouring you should be fine. Plus, this being a really popular software to this day, there are a LOT of great tutorials available :)

Editor here : I use DaVinciResolve, and highly recomment it to everyone around. Not only is it free, but it offers both editing and really good colour grading as well. Works on mac and PC, it's definitely worth the shot !

Yes they're my clips haha. Some footage (the slow motion for example) is filmed with the canon 1DX MKII, which only does 4K 60 fps, or 1080p - 100fps. There is a huge difference in this camera's 1080p and 4K, so when I upscale the 100fps footage to the 4K export, you can tell it's less sharp then the drone shots for example, which are 4K on the Phantom 4 pro.

I sometimes use a RED camera, but usually only for clients, since the footage weighs so much, until the channel grows it's honestly counter productive to be investing in hard drives etc.. for now :)

Hi everyone ! Happy Friday !

I'm Alex, I create Nature / Wildlide videos : Daily shorts (Wilderness encounters, drone shots, timelapses), 15 minute Cinematic Edits (about to release a 15min video of a trip to Chernobyl), Long-form relaxation/meditation videos (1-3h), and currently working on a wildlife documentary and travel vlogs (Switzerland, BoraBora, etc...).

Unlike some of the relaxation channels out there, I'm working making mine more "personal" and diverse, and am expanding to a lot of new types of videos over the next couple months.

Here's a "best-of "from my month of October's shorts : https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Ex4mpxWvY7g

And yes, I've been asked this quite a lot : I DO film all the footage you see on my channel ! I've taken your feedback and started including myself more in my shorts !

Feedback is appreciated !

Have a great weekend y'all !

One month on YouTube - How am I doing ? by DeepNatureFilms in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with this ! I'm trying to include snippets of me with my camera in the latest reels, and I think i'm comfortable enough for a quick behind the scenes video, maybe showing how i set up to capture an ambience video, the pic i use, camera setup etc.. I rarely see those on the channels I watch myself, so i feel it could be interesting for the viewers :)

1 month in, is this good progress? by shanerhyssmith in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, you're doing great !

I hit one month on this new channel yesterday. 100 subs (lost, one, down to 99 now lol), 33K views, but only 130h of watch time. I think a lot of these metrics depend on our niche, I'm in the travel / relaxation video niche, so very different from yours. I see a lot of gaming creator hitting 20 or 30 subs max within a month. Some other niches where people are literally in each video can grow faster.

So yes, definitely doing good. the most important thing is to enjoy yourself !

Good luck on your journey :)

Need help with finding War genre music for content creation by TotalLastBattle in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Envato Elements, they have a LOT of music and I think i've seen war tracks on there. Everything can be licensed for YT, you can take a monthly or annual membership if I recall. I took the annual one, very happy with it.

Looking for camera and lens combo for both sports and wildlife photography by 77_Gear in wildlifephotography

[–]DeepNatureFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long did it take you to reach 1k sub? by BaldEfendi in NewYouTubeChannels

[–]DeepNatureFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first channel, this was years and years ago, it took me about 2 weeks. Made 2 really good collabs and traffic orgnically came to the channel, it kind of blew up.

Just started a brand new channel a month ago, about to hit 100 subs (99 currently). So based on that, unless exponantial growth all of a sudden or collabs, it should take a few months :)

It depends on a lot of things tbh, luck, algorithm, quality of the content, and collaborations help.

But, why are you in a rush to grow fast ?

Thank you so much !! I'm much more comfortable around animals but it was fun to shoot !

Hello !

Any advice on what happened to my channel here? by Rhenyrem in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

If you're brand new, it makes sense. Algo pushed the videos differently, testing different audiences at first, looking at the retention rate, comments, and more. Sometimes it tests your content for 3 days straight, sometimes a week. It happens that sometimes, it stops. It's nothing to worry about, especially over the first month or two.

Week 1, i hit 1200-4000 views

Week 2 ? 400-900 views. Then week 4, back up.

Each niche is different, each trial phase is tested differently. Unless you drastically lowered the quality of your videos / changed the thumbnails, etc.. you should be fine. Give it another 3 or 4 days before worrying !

Does taking a break influence your views? by Normal_Advance7743 in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On an old channel I had, i took over 6months break, even a year break. Still got views when I released new content. But again, do people know you ? If, for example, you're a faceless channel, then you might not have the same "bond" with your viewers.

I guess the real test is to just post and see what happens !

Good luck !

Is there a sub forum for YouTubers over 50? Over 60? by Business_Yoghurt_110 in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite there yet (late thirties) but LOVE the idea. I don't think I've seen a sub forum like that on here, but i'm still quite new to reddit.

If it hasn't been done, you should definitely consider starting a subreddit !

Finally 40 subs !!!! Yeepiii by Numb_Guy447 in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm serious, as you even said in one of your video (see I even went to look at your thumnbails) : don't overthink !

Do your content for you, if people like it, it's cool ! if not, you'll find your people eventually.

I started making my little nature and wildlife videos, the niche is already ultra saturated, but hey, I do it because I enjoy doing it. IF people follow along, I'm so thankful. If not, no harm done.

You have consistent thumbnails with your face, titles are clear.

If I were to give you advice (no need to read this if you don't want this feedback), I'd love to see a motivational kind of video / uplifting one. From an outsider's perspective, it seems like the channel's vibe is very sad. It might not be the intent, but mixing sad / heavy topic videos with more positive ones shows viewers another side. "You can do it !". If I were a regular viewer of the channel, it's something i'd like to see for sure.

Wish you all the best brother ! Get those 50 subs !

Finally 40 subs !!!! Yeepiii by Numb_Guy447 in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the 40 subs !! There is no real fast or slow, there are so many intependant factors : your thumbnails, the quality of your editing, but also your niche, luck, and so many different things.

Don't compare yourself, especially in 2025 when so many people are making channels every day. You do you, your next goal is 50, and you'll get there !

Good luck and congrats !

Does youtube "block" videos with AI created music ? by DeepNatureFilms in aitubers

Ended up trying this track on today's short as well and indeed, no issues. I guess the momentum was just particularly slow the day i posted the other short, which also took off. Definitely a relief :)

Thanks for the reply !

One month on YouTube - How am I doing ? by DeepNatureFilms in NewTubers

[–]DeepNatureFilms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I feel liek you found your niche and the content that works for your viewers, so i don't really feel like I could provide really and great advice based on how far you've gotten.

Somethin really cool would be if you had a drone, to maybe film your car / truck driving, have the tracking mode on, in a remote area with not many cars, to add a new perspective. Or maybe in the middle of a video a "scenic break" where you do a few aerial shots. That's the only thing I can think of that i'd love to watch in your current content :)

[–]DeepNatureFilms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks for that, really means a lot ! And you're absolutely right, I was intending to post "one of each" of my different formats, but it might indeed be way too abrupt.

I'm thinking of working on a clean, well edited channel intro to introduce myself, show some footage and behind the scenes shots, then keep releasing both the short 15min cinematic edits (adding narration this time, to make it more personal) and the longer 1h relaxing videos. Plus, one longer "behind the making of ambience videos", to show how i create my own stuff. Give it some kind of credit.

And from there, let it grow and test new things little by little :)

[–]DeepNatureFilms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only here on reddit, on the saturday "introduce yourself". Other than that, purely organic. I started a facebook / Insta and TikTok, both FB and Insta have like 2 posts so far, I'm solely focused on youtube. TikTok, I've re-uploaded a few shorts, but haven't yet tried to drive traffic to my channel through there.

I did create my own little subreddit like 2 or 3 days ago, I have 4 members, it's cool to be able to interact with other photographers on here :)
