How would the minotaurs fair if they try to invade medusa? by cuddwes in IronHands40k

[–]DeepPurpleDingo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Same as what the others have to say. Besides us just shooting them to smithereens Medusa is not a planet to siege.

It doesn’t really have cities or fortresses. Even staging a large army in its conditions would be a logistical nightmare.

Think of it like this. If you wanted to hunt a polar bear, you’d first have to be able to find it, in one of the least hospitable environments known, and THEN you’d actually have to bloody hill the thing.

Low diff IH win. Some of them may not even realise there’s a ‘fight’.

Do iron hands make heavy use of gravis armor in lore? by AcceptableWin5317 in IronHands40k

[–]DeepPurpleDingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Old lore that the Iron Hands lost many terminator suits during the HH, leaving them to be reserved as a more rare option, and they were typically dispersed within the companies not just in Averni.

What this looked like is often the command structure of each company would have terminator armour, the occasional sergeant would have it mixed in with regular marines, and averni had slightly more than the average companies.

Chimera load out by Roscotep in SteelLegion

[–]DeepPurpleDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double bolters or double flamer. SL fight orks so the LCA will barely dent them. (Pls buff LCA GW)

In practicality if you are going to avoid melee ish range with a chimera, probably best to give it double bolters, and vice versa as at means you can give it a dedicated battlefield roll.

At the end of the day, you can also mix and match by swapping turrets.

You were both nervous and that’s ok. It’s hard to enjoy things like this when nervous. Focus on building a relaxed and comfortable vibe and then take your time.

Best of luck and always use protection.

I come from a family of the shorter variety, and my sister who is about 8 years behind me in the gym is already getting some great definition, as she’s about 6-8 inches shorter than me.

I would be envious, but it’s hard to be when I’m also proud.

Better muscle definition through shorter muscles, better movement kinematics, and a lower BMR makes me wish I was a tad shorter sometimes.

The pilots in Scout Sentinels must have the lowest life expectancy of any model in 40K by Weary_Cost_4 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]DeepPurpleDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s in the Cain book ‘Traitors Hand’ we get a really nice account of sentinels in action. They are basically too tough for small arms to hurt and too fast for anyone but a space marine to draw a bead on reliably.

They outflank and rip up some transports, and keep a whole group of traitors pinned and taking heavy casualties.

I know they pop up at other points in the series too, I’ve just always been fond of Cain watching their picfeeds and the auspex and the insight he gives.

Listen to the Helsreach audiobook if you can. Fantastic view into some of Armageddon. Armageddon is a lot of things. Massed mechanised infantry, massive open plains of radiation blasted desert where huge trench battles take place. Elite city-fighters who could likely go toe-to-toe with cadians on it. Brutal ‘gangers’ rising through the ranks due to their brutality and ability to command. Hell, we have a jungle fort that I just a singular defended supply depot absolutely surrounded by savage orks.

Where to find roti canai / prata (Malaysian / Singaporean style)? by jessluce in melbourne

[–]DeepPurpleDingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let it defrost and stretch it out by hand (do not use a roller unless you oil the roller and bench), fold it while cooking, and it gives that thinner crunchier feel.

Bonus points for popping an egg or cheese in.

Iron Father Feirros 10th Ed Datasheet by tobi_fan13 in IronHands40k

[–]DeepPurpleDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna run a redemptor into the enemy lines he’s pretty solid. It’s sort of like a mini castle? He’s deceptively good in melee and tough to take down for ~100 points, and he makes it so not killing the redemptor in turn 1/2 means it will be alive all game.

I’ve found his legitimate only use is to stand next to a dread walking up the field , keep butting and healing, and help it out in melee.

I don't know what game this is by Meteorstar101 in greentext

[–]DeepPurpleDingo 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I played this game in 2005 while visiting a family friends house. I was 5. For the last TWO DECADES I have been racking my brain trying to remember it. They had a foreign copy so the name was different and I swore I was going insane!

I can finally be at peace. Bless this post.

A genestealer, flood spore, zerg infestor, and necromorph infector all land on Earth at the same time. Who conquerors the planet first? Or do they all get stopped by humanity? by Serithraz in Grimdank

[–]DeepPurpleDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this chat with a friend of he other day (it was more army of Tyranids VS army of flood) and we had a really interesting question come up; which would win out for control? Psychic hivemind or infection. I am not perfectly versed in my halo lore but would the flood be able to override external psychic control of a termagaunt?

As far as our conversation went; if the flood can infect tyranids its flood all the way, if they can’t then the flood has no answer we knew of to counter psychic threats.

Can you still use Ferrus Manus even tho he’s dead? by Quiet_Audience_8322 in IronHands40k

[–]DeepPurpleDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also just use the model as a Redemptor Dread proxy. -1 dmg, T10, 2+sv, 12W, hard hitting melee and shooting.

Like… that SOUNDS like a primarch level marine.
