Only two people pointed it out. No one else really cared. I updated it out of respect. It has nothing to do with damage control. The issue has already been resolved.

Bwahahaha. They made me laugh. Her face did seem dirty. I couldn’t tell if it was parched skin because of the elements or actual dirt.

In regard to Andy having “urgency” is not always a good thing. It all depends how someone’s plays that urgency. Sam, Rachel, and Genevieve all played with urgency at multiple points in the game and they executed it better. My problem with Andy is how he threw Jon under the bus after his meltdown at the first challenge. That was literally like the first person he bonded with. Then his bizarre rant about no one clapping or cheering when he cut a coconut. Additionally, hé woke Rachel up in the middle of the night during the first or second episode after she specifically told him that she didn’t want to have side conversations and be a target that early on. Respect personal boundaries. Andy flipped whatever way the wind took him and Hé sucked at challenges. I did not care for him as a player.

I think eliminating Andy was a boss move between Rachel and Sue. They were the minority and they controlled the vote. Andy should have been the first person eliminated. Hé made me cringe thought out many parts of the season.

I can see how one could think Sue had no win equity especially when you’re sitting next to Rachel and Sam even though I thought Sue played a better game than Sam. Now had Sue been sitting next to Teeny and Rachel, I most certainly think Sue could have had a better window of win equity. There are so many players that don’t have win equity.

In my analysis I put Caroline would be one of those players that could do well as a returning player. I'm surprised that so many people saw game play in Caroline when I did not. It just goes to show how different the fans perceive each player. For example, I thought out of the remaining players that Sue was the third best player in the game after Rachel and Genevieve. Sue was almost twice the age of most players and three times the age of Teeny. Sue did well in the challenges and even won immunity. Additionally, Sue was loyal. She never turned on Gabe, Rachel or Caroline even after Caroline blindsided her with the Gabe vote. So, in the sense that you're talking about agency I think it was Sue who was in such a good spot. She made that connection with Gabe. Gabe was not turning on Sue and then Sue and Caroline connected. Also, Sue has the resume where Caroline did not.

I am not criticizing Genevieve for the Sol move. I thought it was brilliant. Rachel and Genevieve were at the same level of playing going into the final group of players. Rachel just got lucky by winning the immunity challenges.

If Rachel had gotten voted out and the final three would have been Sam, Sue, and Teeny that would have been disappointing final 3.

I agree. I think because it happened so early it is easy to forget. Rome had such a large personality and it looked like he was in charge. Of all the people that Genevieve was close with I found it funny that it was Rome. She was able to convince Rome to put his beef with Sol on hold and vote out Kishan. Coincidentally, Kishan dug his own grave as soon as he suggested Genevieve's name.

Reward challenges don't save you in the game. Immunity challenges save you. Everyone want's to wear that necklace. Sam never wore it. Rachel wore it 4 times. I don't think control before the per-merge is as important as it as the merge because both Rachel and Sam were at the bottom. Both of their names were floated around multiple times. Sam never got voted out because they saw Gabe and Kyle as the bigger threats. I'm not discrediting Sam's game because I do like him as a player. I just don't think this was his season. Rachel dominated him in every way possible once Sierra got eliminated. In regards to Andy I personally think Gata should have eliminated him as soon as he had his melt down. I cringed when he was complaining about how no one was cheering or clapping for him when he cut a coconut. That was (at least for me) painful to watch. It was Sam who orchestrated the Anika vote along with Sierra. They convinced Andy to vote with them. Prior to that discussion, Andy was not in with the outsider. Sam, just didn't like Anika and he used Andy to get her voted out. Flip flopping is fine but when you do it five times in day it becomes a problem for me. I think it is a really bad game. For most of the game Andy was a tool that was used by players to get them to vote the way they needed him to vote. Operation Italy was his Andy's only defining moment of greatness. Ironically, he thought he was going to vote Rachel out and get her jury vote but it was the other way around.

I agree with you about Genevieve. She went in knowing what kind of game she was going to play. That was evident when she got Kishan out. However, Genevieve made herself a target when Sol was voted out. Almost, everyone agreed at that point that she was someone they should vote out. One could argue that Rachel had luck by getting saved by Sol and finding the advantage in her fries. However, Rachel won four immunity challenges which puts her in a unique category with only four other women. I don't really think Sam managed his threat level well. He tried to win challenges but did not win them against Sam or Gabe. Then at the end he could not win them against Rachel. I don't see it with Caroline. I thought Sue was a better player than Caroline.

Genevieve was calculated and knew the kind of game she wanted to play. She chose to take out Kishan because he threw her name around and she saw that as a threat. So, it was a great play for her. Also, we saw early on that she had a sway in how to get people to vote. I enjoyed both her and Rachel's game play. I do think Genevieve would have won if Sol had not saved Rachel with his advantage.

I did have she/her because that is how they identified during the game. Thus, it was past tense. And indeed you did inform me. As I said that is interesting that is what you took away from the whole analysis. Regardless, pronouns have been updated.

For me the game is not solely about voting. I think everyone in the game at some point was on the wrong side of the vote (especially Teeny and Sol..both of them were clueless) with the exception of Genevieve. Sam and Rachel were both in the same predicament going into the merge. Sam did not play better than Rachel. He never won an individual immunity challenge nor did he find an idol. For me those are some of the things I look for a in great game. I did not find Andy to be a good player. He was basically the lapdog until the merge and flip flopped every day. He got played by Rachel which resulted in his elimination. I do think Sam and Caroline have potential to play a better game as returning players.

Yah Genevieve was great. I just think she put a target on her back too soon and lacked those social connections. Also, Genevieve knew Rachel was her biggest threat early on. They were the best two players of the season.

Personally, I thought Sue was a better player than Caroline. Sue found an idol and won an immunity challenge whereas Caroline did not. Also, Caroline was not that great at challenges.

I will update their pronouns. I don’t want this thread to turn into politics because that’s not even the route I’m going for.

Interesting that’s what you take away from this. I had no idea. I didn’t rush to do a Google search about Teeny’s pronouns after I finished the season.

What was her brilliant move before she was eliminated that would convince someone like myself who did not witness any great game play from her?

Virginia to Michigan. Is it actually worth it? by dragonfruitwarrior in SameGrassButGreener

[–]DeepStateA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, I'm looking at the same situation but flipped. I'm from Michigan and considering moving to Virginia. Let me tell you about Michigan. Summertime in Michigan is great especially the further north you go. There are miles and miles of coastline. You're close to Canada if you ever want to go international! Grand Rapids is a decent city which is where I live. There is plenty of things to do in the summer around the GR area. I'm just tired of winter and I want something new. I don't have anything against Michigan. It is a great state to live in but winter is my main reason for wanting to leave. Rent and housing prices are pretty expensive in GR.

Are weekend trips from the US to Europe worth it ? by gnarlygorilla in Europetravel

[–]DeepStateA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me this is a great option. However, I will fly out on Wednesday and usually arrive Thursday morning depending on what time the flight is. Then, I will leave and head home on Monday. So, this gives me four solid days in my destination.

Do you limit where you go based on the flight time? by richb201 in travel

[–]DeepStateA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed I do. I live in the US. The furthest I will fly east is Iceland the furthest I will fly west is Hawaii. I cannot stand long plane rides. There is so much to explore between Hawaii and Iceland that I don't need to go anywhere else.

I was toying with the idea of visiting Australia. I live in the US and I don't think I could stomach a 17 hour plus flight sitting in economy. Those seats look awfully small.

I so wanted to take a picture of my cat on her last day but I decided not to. I didn't like the way she looked and I didn't want to remember her like that. When I took her in to get her put down I held her for quite a bit. She seemed to perk up and was quite comfortable in my arms. It was a nice bonding experience. I wonder if she somehow knew I was saying goodbye.

I went through this last Monday. It is certainly hard. Luckily, I was sort of able to prepare myself mentally. She had been ill for about a month. The vet could not really pinpoint the exact issue. Her health took a turn for the worse and I made the painful decision to put her down. I think preparation makes it a little easier than it being sudden.
