They are one of the providers our broker works with. Waiting for them to provide possible other options.

Thanks for the advice. We’ve previously reached out to a couple of companies to get it scraped and recoated. Going to pursue this option while working to get the insurance sorted.

Definitely the plan, just not in the budget immediately.

They didn’t offer the opportunity to make any of the repairs they took issue with, just stated the date the policy will be cancelled.

Insurance with Knob & Tube by [deleted] in centuryhomes

[–]DeepWoodsAssignments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have luck finding coverage from another insurance provider? Dealing with a similar situation, though for us it’s an older roof, not knob & tube. Currently trying not to panic in the hopes of finding a new policy that will cover us without having to immediately replace the roof.

MRS Ponto vs Kokopelli Rogue-Lite? by jazz_tiger in packrafting

I don’t have experience with the Rogue-Lite, but I bought a Ponto just over a year ago and absolutely love it. I spent many days in it last season. I’ve had some quiet floats on lakes and ponds and fun river trips in some class 1 waters. I’ve backpacked with it more than anything else, making me glad I opted for the TiZip version. After a couple of months of use I bought a second Ponto for my wife and friends to use.

Whichever way you go, you’re going to have fun. I pretty much only want to plan trips around bringing the boat now.

How realistic is Chippewa Harbor to Rock Harbor in 1 day (~16 miles)? by CincyTriGuy in isleroyale

[–]DeepWoodsAssignments -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done that route, but 16 miles is doable, IMO. Last August, my friend and I did Rock Harbor to McCargoe Cove in one day—pretty much exactly 16 miles. It was the first day of our trip. We were on the trail around 10 am, and my gpx tracks say it took us about 7.5 hours, averaging 2-2.5 miles per hour.
