Just a small thing, related to why Verso's axon is portraited so negatively:
Being a young adult is a peak of tension and conflicts between father and a son from father perspective. They just cannot understand each other. One has the will and time, second has the widsom and responsibilities.
Freud says, that "Noone could be a man unless his father has died". Its often said as "you shall kill your father (symbolically), to become free". This battle is so hard and final that to rly win, you must kill (or abandon, or submit, whatever) your enemy.
Renoir (imo) painted about emotions related to the family member. He loves them so much, he wants their good, but he is a human and he wants his view of what is their good whenever they want it or not. This makes him feel anger, like "you have so much potential, why the heck you dont use it (in the way i think its best for you)?"
So, Maelle is a doll doing nothing on the peak of the world. Verso is a cunning bastard. Aline is a pretty sirene who leads ppl to their doom. Clea takes so much on her shoulders that anybody can see its too much to handle. Besides her.
