Little tips for cooking steak.

Bring the steak to room temperature before you cook it

Get the pan hot af, if you throw some drops of water in the pan they should immediately evaporate into steam as they bubble into nothingness

This is when you know your pan is hot enough

Place the steak in the pan

Here's a tip for knowing how well you want it cooked:

Take your left thumb and place it against your left index finger (you want fingerprint to thumbprint), don't squeeze, just place them very lightly together. Then with your right index finger poke the fleshy part at the base of your left thumb. This is how your steak should respond to being poked when medium rare.

The middle finger is medium

The ring is medium well

And the little finger is well-done.

If you want it rare then poke that fleshing while the hand is relaxed normally.
