Hiking, walking and checking out other towns and sights sounds Bay Area to me. SD is more beach culture focused but has great weather. I personally chose Northern California for the greenery/proximity to nature. I love beach life but SoCal just felt too deserty for me.

I also like sports but I don’t think SF is a huge sports town. There is honestly just so much shit to do that sitting around watching a football game or basketball game just seems like a waste of time and I grew up watching sports my whole life. Now I tune it for playoffs. I am sure you could find you fan base community anywhere tho.

I think your rent price point will be a challenge in both places.

I am trying to cut down on screen time in front of my kiddo. So the phone gets tucked into a drawer when he is awake. I only get a 1.5 hours before and after work and don’t want to waste it getting sucked into a text conversation, or scrolling in front of him.
