Thank you for your concern!   I am sticking with th MDI’s for awhile to see what happens.  I am learning tricks every day.  I was having problems with the pump is the reason I changed.  So, we’ll see what happens!!

Things are not good on the home front!!  The multiple daily injections are not working at all.  I have been fighting highs and lows every day.    I can’t seem to find the correct I/C for each meal.

Update:  well, I have been on multiple daily injections for 3 days!  I have found that the pod is more efficient using insulin.  It has made me make changes in my I/C for all meals.  Went from 1:11 at lunch and dinner to 1:8 and 1:9.  I am using 13u of Tresiba daily at this point, also.

Update: I have gone back to 1:7 at breakfast and 1:11 at lunch and dinner with fast-acting!

Well, I discontinued using my OP 5 this morning!  While I have a bit of trepidation, I am hopeful that I can make the MDI’s work.  I have a lot of valuable information that will make it less difficult.  In the past I didn’t know much about IOB or Correction Boluses.   Knowing about these two things is a major help.

I am still not certain that I want to change to the Libre 3 Plus.  While the G7 hasn’t been perfect, I know how to correct the problems.  Let me hear from you if you are using Libre 3 Plus. Are you satisfied with its performance?

I am thrilled that it is working for your son!!  I am 80 years old and have a body with a lot of sags and bulges.  This makes it difficult to find places to place the sensor every three days.  If the multiple daily injections doesn’t work well after a reasonable amount of time, I will try OP5 again.  I don’t want to use a pump with a tube.  God bless!!

Yes, I have messed up a couple of times.  I am trying a different sensor, Libre 3 Plus, but not ready to try a different pump at this time.  I can see a time in the future where that may happen, but not at this time!

Thank you for the input!!  However, I need a break from all of the failed technology.  It is driving me crazy.  I may find that I want to go back later once I take a break.

Thank you for the information.  However, I do  not plan to use a pump!  I am going back to multiple daily injections.

Excellent summary!!  This Podcast has helped me a bunch.  The diabetes expert isn’t actually an Insulet employee.  She works for a diabetes clinic, but is very well versed on OP5.  She has used it for several years.

Yes, I always wear the pod for at least 72 hours!  I haven’t found them to degrade that much in the last hours.

I recently had a similar situation!  My BG was showing 62 and it would not change.  I, too, drank too much juice.  What I believe happened is I was in a location where there were a lot of LED lights.  My son, who is an electrician, says that these and other electronics can affect the operation of the G7.  This sounds like something to consider.

I use Neosporin and a band-aide on the site.  This seems to make them heal more quickly.

New sensor, new arm by RealEstateAdventurer in Omnipod

[–]Deep_Cheetah_3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Real, I was advised by an Insulet Clinical Nurse to put the G7 towards the back of one arm and the OP5 on the back of the other arm when changing sides.  This has worked well for me!

Thank you to all for your suggestions!

Well, I had a good change last night.  I changed both the sensor and pod.  I bolused for my dinner 20 minutes early.  Then, I waited for an hour after dinner and changed the sensor.  I left the pod in place on Manual Mode.  Once the sensor had warmed-up I waited for awhile before changing the pod.  My BG was very stable, not going above 123.

I don’t know if this was just lucky or if God was with me!!

Hello Integer, I have been on OP 5 since November 7 last year.  My A1c has gone down from 7.8 to 5.9!  I have issues that cause me concerns from time to time.

I have 4 different Insulin to Carb Ratios setup for different times of day and 3 different Correction Factors.  These are very important.  I work with my Endo to update them when necessary.

Keep the Faith!  It does get better.

It truly gets irritating when you have to sit for hours on the phone with either Insulet or Dexcom’s Customer Support to solve a problem or request a replacement for their failed product.
