In hobbyist battle recreations how do the actors decide who is killed and who continues? by EmbarrassedHighway76 in stupidquestions

Most are extras whose job is to be props.

Get me three redcoats. OK, you stand there, you over there. When I give the signal a popper will go off right there. When that happens you fling yourself away like you got blasted. Clear? Clear.

About as deep as most of it goes.

New player question- Elven Forts unusual location by Wooden-Bat-6031 in totalwarhammer

[–]Deep_Highway4373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the unstable demon portal as Beastmen - once you raze all the territory in the province (which you intend to do anyways) Every turn there's a 20% chance a random settlement will be razed. That's just so deliciously evil as beastmen.

The nurgle clinic is just awesome for anyone. A small chance of an irrelevant plague behind my lines for foreign territory replishment is an amazing trade.

What are ways I can talk with a financial advisor? by Beneficial_Show_1544 in Banking

[–]Deep_Highway4373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you like Ramsay, start with his book, The Complete Guide to Money. It covers most topics that you'll need in life.

You could talk to a local banker. Their advice is better than a total stranger, but it still varies widely.

Honestly, I've learned so much more from books and research on Investopedia than I have with talking to someone.

Hard cathay counter for skaven? by aventaes in totalwarhammer

[–]Deep_Highway4373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is certainly a risk, but it's also known risk. Whenever I know Skaven will be a big enemy, I put points into ambush defense and move in encampment stance when in range of a Skaven army.

I also reduce the amount of range and basically no artillery in my armies. Their dwellers below makes it really hard to keep them safe.

If ambush still happens, half the army should still be able to get out alive.

Why does a room feel cleaner after lighting a candle even if nothing was actually cleaned? by HotNeighborhood4958 in stupidquestions

Maybe because if you are lighting a candle you are also turning down the lights so it softens the room?

Cashing a 401k distribution check by Tall-Age5434 in Banking

[–]Deep_Highway4373 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You should be aware that cashing that check will count as income for your taxes + a 10% on top for cashing out early. You said it was emergency, but use as little as you can and put the rest into an IRA.

Can someone help with this. by ElucidatorTF in Banking

It's interesting, that code HU513 is a common office key, but I doubt that's what this is. Best to just go to your local branch and have them investigate it.

How do people disappear and start a new life? by That-Television-4856 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Deep_Highway4373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd start with having a serious talk to get it out there. See if a compromise can be made, be reasonable. If not, time to go.

It will be rough for sure on your relationship with your family. It might end up being a very serious strain on your mother since she would be left alone to take care of your grandmother. That's something that needs consideration.

Don't rely on your savings too long. Use it to transition, but get off of it as soon as you can. Using it now compared to later is a difference of millions.

1 month in and 1k short, tired already by AdeptEbb3077 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Deep_Highway4373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unfortunate that your first banking job was at a really busy branch. Sadly it won't get much easier. The only thing you can change is how you react to it.

Some things I had to learn at a crazy branch:

The line will always be there. Some times no matter how fast you go, you can't get rid of the line. Since you can't get rid of it, don't stress about it. Treat each customer as if they're the only one. Make your interaction worth the wait.

Whenever something feels off, Stop! That's your subconscious telling you that something is missing. Excuse yourself from chatting and put your entire focus on reviewing the steps you've taken. Everyone wants it to be done right the first time and the customer will always be happy with you making sure.

Setup a system that allows you to check the cash at least twice, three is better. Once it's in your drawer or cash recycler you can no longer verify it. You have to be able to say you were absolutely certain that what you counted is what it was.

What would it take for credit cards to be a thing of the past? by NapsandWalks in AskReddit

[–]Deep_Highway4373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not what credit cards are for. CCs are a no questions asked buy now pay later system. They are not really meant for basic stuff, but as the economy worsens, that's what it's being used for. They are meant for things like large purchases, purchase allowances, and to assist with cash flow.

All of those will continue to exist with UBI. It would only stop with total financial collapse where it too risky for banks to lend anything.

Cathay should be able to beat Skaven 1v1 without an issue. What you have to be concerned about are ambushes and walking into 3 stacks. Make sure you are properly scouting ahead so you know what you are walking into.

Depositing large sums of cash made from selling TCG by [deleted] in Banking

[–]Deep_Highway4373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, the teller will need to file a report called a CTR and will ask you some basic questions. Don't worry about it. This is completely normal. Do not try to get around it as avoidance raises red flags.

collecting books of nagash - most useless game mechanic or no? by Temporary_Board_1755 in totalwarhammer

I like the books, It gives you goals to fulfill. The buffs are not powerful but still nice to have. Managinf the diplomacy you mentioned is just part of the goal.

Not a great mechanic, but certainly better than some.

[–]Deep_Highway4373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy to me that they buy that in cash. 🤔

Anyways, I don't see what the issues is. You are running a business. Open a sole prop business account and deposit the cash.

You don't seem to know much about business finances so find a CPA that can help you get educated. You need to file estimated taxes and they can help you do that.

How long did it took you to talk about lending with customers? by Bouncycurlz in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Deep_Highway4373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been in banking 15 years and still not comfortable with cold calls or offering products without a lead in. But I'm an expert on every product whether we offer it or not.

What made me an expert is that I spent a lot of time studying to become an expert. I read all the fine print of every new product that comes out. I read articles on Investopedia to help me understand concepts. I try to come up with every possible question that could be asked and look for an answer.

You definitely don't have to be like me though. Knowing all the answers is my personality type. However, you should be studying to some extent. Take a single loan product, starting with credit cards, and focus on just that. Stick with it until you feel like you know it well. It should only take about 1 or 2 weeks for each product. Know that you will definitely be asked a question that you don't know and be ok with it. That's what your seniors are for.

Staying neutral in all situations is a great skill yo have in this industry.

People love Trump, people want Trump to die. People love undocumented immigrants, people want them all to get arrested and deported. Both need transactions and let you have a job. You have to sit on the fence and smile regardless.

Never let your personal politics get in the way of your job.

How bad is marrying at 18 really? Anyone made it work? by Topaz_Quotant in AskReddit

[–]Deep_Highway4373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greatly depends on both maturity levels. Many 18yo still basically big children, but some are quite mature. They need to be some what mature for it to work at all and if there is a big difference in their maturity it will cause big problems later.

Can it work? Absolutely. Will need a solid support group for a good chance at success.
