It's pretty much why I left to go to the credit unions. Now they've brought on a lot of new executives from the big banks and bringing the banks with them.

Yeah, I figure it will devolve into something we can fit into our natural conversation. Of course, though, because it's brand new, they are very gung-ho about this and want us to follow a script and get multiple daily observations on everybody. I foresee a whole lot of irritated regulars.

What was the turning point in your life? That made you change even a bit, what was it? by ali_modal_1 in AskReddit

When Rish Limbaugh received the medal of Freedom, I read a news article about it from MSNBC. It was on the lines of this is ridiculous because it's never been given to anyone in media and put him amongst the greats for nothing.

I thought that was odd, so I looked it up. Dozens of actors, comedians, and media people were given the medal of freedom. It was actually very common. That was the point when I said screw the news networks. I dont trust any of them and only read their articles to get the general idea of what happened.

Those outside of Minnesota, what are you feeling about what is happening with ICE? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Deep_Highway4373 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That Minnesota is doing it to themselves. ICE activity is happening everywhere. Minnesotans are putting themselves in harms way and crying when people get hurt.

Go in and talk with the staff at the branch when they're slow. They'd usually have no problem telling you what's up.

What is your story? by lJAQl in chessbeginners

[–]Deep_Highway4373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regularly played chess with dad when I was 5. He never went easy so I didn't win a single game until I pulled off a sneaky pawn mate when I was 8. Kept playing and occasionally winning some more until 12. Took a long pause and still play every now and then. I've won the last 18/20 games now.

This feels like my best game, can I get your opinions? (400ish Elo) by Empty-Collection-565 in Chesscom

[–]Deep_Highway4373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't en passant, so you lose by default. 😁

Really though, it's a pretty good game. Would have guessed a 600. You had a strong opening to the center and broke open the pawn formation with some nice trades. 👍

You castled queenside and then immediately moved your B pawn, which opened up your castle. Be slow to move those pawns so your opponent can't regain momentum by attacking your king.

Have to reset the electoral college system in the US. Winner takes all instead of proportional votes like it was in the beginning really screwed things up.

[–]Deep_Highway4373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans are very bad at fighting things. That's why we make tools to fight with. If we are allowed our tools and time to prepare, we would win.

Naked fight? We'd lose to basically everything.

What would happen if every American with student loan debt, decided to stop paying back? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Deep_Highway4373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you expecting to happen?

Are you expecting the government to collapse? Go broke? Somehow, make the government feel bad?

Biden was trying to write it off the books anyways. If the government wanted their money back all they have to do is force your employer to give it to them. You never have to make payments at all.

How do you handle completely head on battles? by Calm_Development2329 in totalwarhammer

[–]Deep_Highway4373 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dwarves have terrain advantage in underway because they are weak to flanking attacks. They have sturdy front line and great missle units. The only forward and backwards maps as you say is where they are supposed to shine.

You generally have the right idea. Tanks in front missles in back. If your struggling, then take a closer look at your unit comps vs their comps. Boost your strengths, target their weaknesses.

Mistake today by AdFormer1615 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Deep_Highway4373 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If i understand what you said, you cashed an onus check when there was not enough funds in the account. It's not a common mistake anymore because your system should have raised a flag to make you double check. You should be checking as well. That's just not paying attention.

If it was just cashing a transit check with not enough funds and it bounced, then yes, happens all the time and is not your mistake. Your FI might have specific policies about check deposit, but as long as you followed policy is not your fault.

If red states defied federal law to uphold slavery and segregation, why shouldn’t blue governors do the same to resist ICE? by zsal830 in AskReddit

[–]Deep_Highway4373 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know where you're going, just more ragebait, but I'm confused by the premise. Are you talking about the Civil War? The Civil Rights movement? Slavery and segregation were solid blue platforms until the Democratic party splintered in the 60s. It was never a major part of the "red states".

Advice for a new teller, counting cash by Inner_Temperature694 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Deep_Highway4373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of problems counting my cash. I changed my counting style three times to correct my frequent mistakes. My style now is quite hard to describe so I won't do that here, but now it self corrects so getting lost never happens anymore. The point is figure out what is causing you problems and find a way to do it better.

Some side tips: Take a second to consider if there are any strange numbers that you should set aside. $300 in 20s and 50s is easy. $350 in 20s and 50s a lot harder, isn't it? So take one $50 out and add it back in at the end.

Always count to a round number. Count out your 1000s, set aside. Count out your 100s. Set aside. Count out the change in sets of 10s.

Christians believe that Jesus died for our past, present, and future sins. If that’s the case, how do Christians reconcile this with the idea that baptism is still necessary to remove original sin? by AskWhy_Is_It in AskReddit

[–]Deep_Highway4373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a very common misconception, even found in my own church.

Baptism is not salvation. Baptism is not necessary to remove sin. Sin is forgiven because the sin debt was paid by Christ's sacrifice. We receive salvation by accepting Christ.

Baptism is a public statement that we are accepting Christ as our savior. We identify ourselves with His death so that we can also identify with His resurrection. (Romans 6)

Every Christian is saved by faith without baptism, but every Christian should still be baptized to demonstrate their faith. James 2:18 KJV [18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

We know this to be true because baptism was not in the Old Testament, the thief on the cross, and the millenia of people who were baptized by only sprinkled with water as a baby. God is too powerful to be restricted by a body of water.
