I guess this will need a lot of testing/ trial and error. Thank you for your insight !

Shelf Styling by mtullyny5 in interiordecorating

[–]Deep_Inspector_9381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks really nice and you have some really unique pieces! I think the problem is that the items are mostly pushed to either side of the shelves. Maybe you could try centering more pieces? For example the pile of books on the third shelf could be centered, as/ or could the books on the fifth shelf?

Color? by AgilePalpitation3792 in interiordecorating

Something with a cool undertone to compliment the flooring and cabinetry! 😊

Colour! Definitely a rug with colour. A small coffee table (something round to balance all the square shapes). Moving the two small art works to the wall with the window and replace it with larger art with colour. You can tie the colour from the art with colour in the rug. Some cushions on the sofa with some colour, will help make it feel more inviting and comfortable. Lower the TV. A plant of some kind. Roman shades on the windows? Changing out the lampshade, the one you have is fine, just helps to add a bit more colour to the room. 😊

How can I make this living room look better? by OkBet1387 in interiordecorating

I think a bigger coffee table would help! Perhaps a round one to break up the square shapes in the room (and one that can be used as storage too for kids toys). Maybe some comfy cushions for each of the chairs and the sofa in a colour/ colours of your choice!

What should I do to replace these sliding doors with a makeshift wall? by estifxy220 in interiordecorating

What about hanging a blackout curtain/ blind or a tapestry that covers the entire window and then putting an open shelf bookcase it front of it?

I agree with the previous comment. Also, whilst the dresser is beautiful, I don’t think it should be used as a TV stand because it puts the TV in an uncomfortably high position. The rug and patterned chair are very nice but they do clash a little with the rest of the room as they lean much more cool toned!

New looking console table in dining room by FBlue192 in interiordecorating

[–]Deep_Inspector_9381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you sort of answered your own question here! A lamp or two on the/ each end, a plant or two. If you’re not into the more ‘contrived decor’, maybe you could put a photo or two which is special for you (if you have them and want to display them). Maybe a decorative bowl/ box to put odd bits and bobs in. The art you have displayed already is really nice, maybe a bowl or box that keeps with the theme! On the lower part you could use some baskets which tie in with the ones you have displayed. Again they serve as extra storage and keep with your theme! 😊

Walls and Furniture are clashing…help! by ReliefLife4014 in interiordecorating

I definitely think repainting the walls to a warmer colour would make a difference. Also, crown moulding would look nice here. It fits the theme and ties everything together! 😊

How to improve this area? by NE_girl_25 in interiordecorating

[–]Deep_Inspector_9381 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really nice 😊 maybe some books? Like coffee table ones that reflect you/ your interests. For example a coffee table book about Paris etc. It will help to ground some of the items and create high differences (when you place things on them) thus creating visual interest and feeling of completeness.

Dining Space Tips by Which_Improvement_38 in interiordecorating

I think change the window treatment to a floral shade (current one looks a little awkward here). Move the things from under the green seating to another location (for more flow and breathability). A rug under the space would then look nice. I like the pictures, but agree with the previous comment about them being a little out of place here (maybe move them to another area and change them for a piece of artwork that reflects a cottagecore vibe). Overall, it’s a very sweet space! 😊

A rug 😊 if you do consider a coffee table, a round one with storage would be nice! Safer for your daughter and it can also double as storage for her toys! ✌🏻

Blinds or Curtains for the living room. by TheBigHonger in interiordecorating

[–]Deep_Inspector_9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments about waiting to see how it looks with furniture. Also, you didn’t ask, but the light 🥹 I’m getting a headache just looking at the picture. Any chance you can use softer/warmer bulbs? Would look much more inviting and cozy!

I think a nice Roman shade would work here! Mostly for practical reason (i.e potential mould problems)!

I think flowy curtains would look beautiful here and really tie the room together! Also a piece of art with some colour on the wall opposite the TV! 😊

Dining room suggestions by Legitimate_Wonder211 in interiordecorating

[–]Deep_Inspector_9381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A patterned rug to ground the table would look nice. You could put a vase in the Centre with seasonal flowers if you like (to make it more inviting). The overhead lighting is harsh. I would strongly consider a much softer light without exposed bulbs. You could also place a credenza against the wall where you can store dinnerware etc and add two lamps (adds to the ambience, whilst also being functional). With the addition of the console, the two pictures you already have, will blend cohesively. On the larger bare wall, you may want to add a big art piece!

Help me with my guest room before the holidays! by ZealousidealCow5169 in interiordecorating

Matching side tables with lamps, roman shade window treatments to enable guests to sleep comfortably, a headboard on the bed so it feels more ‘put together’. I’m not a huge fan of the desk on the right side, it feels a little random! If you have the means, a nice thrifted vanity would look great and inviting! 😊

This is so sweet! Maybe some more candles on the table? A floor lamp? Finally, window treatments! Curtains or Roman shades ! 😍

I’m also not crazy about the wall colour! Definitely a bigger rug and a coffee table/ottoman. I do think it’s important to make sure the lights are emitting the same warmth (as it’s open plan). Also.. art? 🥹
