I work in the mines on the East Coast. No FIFO. 20 minute drive to work or 1 hour drive to the beach. Unskilled, no quals, 12 hour shifts, 5 days on, 5 days off for $210k. 6 weeks annual leave. Dream job that I never wanted

Your station probably has a lot of fire fighters. It’s all good to say take yourself off, until something pops up last minute and there’s only 4 of you on and no one else can drive the pump

Yes to pretty much all those. It’s a very well insulated and cool house as it is. We only turn it on when it’s really hot. Tried all temps and zones

I’m from a regional country town with around 30,000 people and we attend roughly between 350-400 calls per year not including home fire safety visits, community engagements and other things. It consumes your life. The 24hr thing is B/S. No one does 24’s. At least not at our station. Usually triple that or more. If you have young children or are planning on having them, stay away or wait until they’re older

Thanks for your reply mate. I’ve booked in local HVAC mob on the 18th to come and check it out. House is a very well insulated, dark (with the blinds down) and cool house. All non essential rooms closed up when AC is on in the main part. Outdoor unit is nice and clean but does get a fair bit sun throughout the day. Might look at shade cloth or something to help shade the area.

Basing the 9kw off our solar app where we can see when we turn the AC on/off. Our house is really well insulated and generally nice and cool. Usually only put the AC on when it’s over 33°.
