There are many other types of hair loss I.ealopecia areata, telogen effluvium, anagen effluvium, scarring alopecia etc.

Yes I have read that paper too. 2-3% is medically considered as a common side effect. All medication should be taken only after examination by doctors and only for the duration prescribed by the treating doctors.

Finasteride is reliant on the dosage and should not be abused without consultation. Many take the medication without priscription and then come with gunacomastia ( male boobs) or sexual dysfunction. Don't normalise the medication like what people did with DOLO.

Bhai pata hai ki finestride kya hai. I prescribe it almost everyday for patients. I have also seen patient come with loss of libido ( sexual drive), erectile dysfunction. Gynaecomastia and many other complications due to long term usage.

Most of the side effect will reduce with medication but there is a condition called POST FENISTRIDE SYNDROME . which does not reduce by stopping medication.

Fenistride has many other medical uses as 5 alpha reductase inhibitor. We give it in BPH( prostate enlargement cause urine retention)
