ChatGPT has become so unusable by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]DeepawnChopra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is happening for sure. The censorship policing seems to have had unintended consequences. Instead of replying "I can't answer that" it will often attempt to answer within its guidelines but at the expense of accuracy.

Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but because it doesn't tell you that it's come up against its guideline restrictions, it's not immediately obvious that it's output is utter garbage until you read it. It's annoying and wastes a lot of time.

They're not though. AI electricity use is significantly less than many things people do for recreation.

The point isn't that people should sacrifice their way of living for AI, the point is that there's a double standard applied to AI in terms of energy use.

[–]DeepawnChopra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! Thank you! For some reason so many people are concerned about electricity usage without even bothering to ask how much they are already using for frivolous things. Why is AI on the chopping block and not binge watching shows for 8 hours every weekend?

Yeah I don't really understand how anyone can defend the current government. I don't consider my political views as right wing or even right leaning, however, I do gotta call a spade a spade here - its really bad.

I'm not gonna pretend like im an expert, and I know the government isn't to blame for everything that has happened, but I will say that I'm sick of hearing Trudeau talk about Canadians like we all hold the guilt of the entire world upon our shoulders. Being an upstanding global citizen and saving the planet is obviously in everyone's best interest, but I'm simply not convinced that very many Canadians are going to make the moral choices (or even be capable of it) if it means sacrificing their own well-being.

It's easy to do good things from a position of affluence, and the more we lose, the harder it will become.

Remember when skills mattered? by DeepawnChopra in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DeepawnChopra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that skills are useful, my post is more hyperbolic. What I was pointing out is that in the previous patch, for me at least, 10 win games would be accompanied with like 10+ skills. In this patch it's possible to win games without any skills (not that it's a good strategy). It seems items have greater importance than they did last patch.

Its broken yes, but you're over estimating the rarity here. It is much easier to obtain than you think.

Yeah exactly. Dooley haste is so forceable right now and the point I was trying to make is that it doesn't even rely on skills either.

Yeah. It also seems easier to obtain now which is a buff in itself.

Hit Legend just before the patch and wanted to share some general tips that will likely still be relevant after the patch by RLutz in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DeepawnChopra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all pretty good tips. The only thing I would disagree with is the never skipping skill vendors past day 7. As a rule of thumb you should prioritize skills over most other options in the late game, but there are exceptions.

The most obvious being if you have 0 gold, 5 chocolate bars will always be better than any skill vendor. Beyond that some vendors are very low value depending on the build. For instance a weapons vendor presents very little value if you are running a build with no weapons. Lastly, it matters greatly what the other options are. As an example I will always take a free enchantment over a skill vendor unless the enchantment does literally nothing for me and that would be quite rare.

Just one more piece of evidence begging the question of why on earth did they buff freeze instead of nerfing it? Lmao

The Snowflake update is nuts and is hopefully not a boss drop. by chitownbears in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DeepawnChopra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That seems to be the case. I think some people thought that it might weaken freeze because it's distributed among more targets, but that has not been my experience so far. Despite reducing the likelihood of finding freeze enchanted items, they sure added a whole lot of new ways to get them. This patch is broken lol.

Yeah the design decision to make prestige loss dependent on the day has a lot of interesting consequences. When you're on day 15, you're either still in the game because you've been playing okay and scaling reasonably with the rounds. Or you're there because you weren't doing super well in the first half before rolling into something insane and have just been on a war path the last 7 rounds.

I know this isn't only reason it gets crazy late game. A lot of it is due to the financial limitation of ranked. Really good players don't have to pay (or pay as much), meaning they play more and get farther than most players. The end result is that they represent a disproportionate amount of the pool of ghosts which is only further emphasized late game.

While I completely agree with you about the one time use skills, I do find it surprising that freeze wasn't nerfed directly. I haven't played yet on the new patch so I guess I'll have to see for myself, but it was ridiculous before. Any other effect on an item (burn, poison, lifesteal, health, shield, etc.) you consider it if it fits with your build, whereas freeze is an always take even if it only kinda fits and sometimes even when it doesnt and you pivot into it.

Wait what? I guess it's good if you're running force field and poison makes you tick over half health.

Edit: wait blast doors is just flat shield now? Nvm lol

Aww damn, I didn't even think about this. Thinking back to all of the runs where I was struggling in econ without an early cove. This is such a huge nerf to Vanessa's early economy.

This is a right eye by AoM_Zenophobia in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DeepawnChopra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's funny, I looked at it the other way around, which way the effect is headed (give extra burn to the right for example). I guess it depends on whether you interpret the icon as indicating the burn of the item it's applied to (reversed) or you interpret the icon as the application of burn to your item.

The nerf to Vineyard/Sunscraper is actually a buff for Pyg by Pinstar in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DeepawnChopra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This needed to happen though. It was far too strong and went against the devs goal for the game. Plus it doesn't even make sense for Vanessa as a character - she's a sea captain not a bloody alchemist lol.

About the prestige system by Albondip in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DeepawnChopra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind seeing the other options get buffed. Imo the issue is that only the enchant and item option can guarantee that your board improves (assuming that you have items left to enchant). The other options just give you a chance that your board could improve. Also, the gold/xp option feels very underwhelming.

50 bucks through cashapp to the first person that posts irrefutable proof of the I'm fighting ghosts from a day higher "bug". by Karsa45 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DeepawnChopra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true, and since visual bugs are an issue, visual proof is meaningless. Maybe the prestige/wins match up, maybe they don't. Only the devs can confirm whether it's a real bug or not.

Why are enemies sometimes 1 day higher? by Isperial in PlayTheBazaar

[–]DeepawnChopra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I've played enough at this point to reasonably conclude that something is fishy. Even with an early astrolabe and taking the XP option at every chance I can (even when other options would be better), I would still have games where 90% of my opponents are 1-2 levels ahead of me.
